Default GRL's 'Simone Battle' dead at 25

A childhood friend of the singer, Derek Butler, posted the following on his Instagram account today



"I'm still in shock and in disbelief to have confirmed the death of my childhood friend @SimoneBattle," read the post.

"Her heart was pure gold and her star power limitless. Rest in sweet peace Angel. #simonebattle #rip #grl"

Posts by stylist Charlie Brianna, singer Drew (who competed against Simone on the first US series of X Factor), and Hit The Floor star Taylour Paige have all posted tributes to Simone.

I can't believe this. I was such a fan of hers on The X Factor.

Too young. RIP

I remember rooting for her so much, her judges houses performance was one of my favourites of any X Factor
