Default David James goes Bankrupt, selling memorabilia, truly Calamity James

Quote:
Former England goalkeeper David James is to auction hundreds of items of football memorabilia collected during his career.

James, who played for Liverpool, Aston Villa, West Ham, Manchester City and Portsmouth, was declared bankrupt in May.

Among the items being sold through London-based auctioneer Hilco are 150 signed shirts, shorts and match balls.

Also being sold is James's customised Astra van and Raleigh Chopper bikes.

The 44-year-old won 53 England caps during a career that also saw spells at Watford, Bristol City and Bournemouth and is currently goalkeeper and manager of Indian Super League side Kerala Blasters FC.

Bids for his possessions, which also include exercise and DJ equipment, vinyl records, books and toys, are being accepted from 6 to 18 November.

Shirts including an England home kit signed by the team, and a bright pink Portsmouth goalkeeper's jersey, are expected to sell for upwards of £30-50 each.

Didn't he play until he was 40 a lot longer than many, shame as the stuff will be sold off and his creditors paid, he won't see a penny, what does he do now for a job?

He's player-manager of one of the teams in the new Indian Super League, find it hard to see why he has such problems really considering he must be earning a small fortune over there and has also been doing punditry recently

As others have suggested he needs a reality tv stint.

I suspect January CBB would offer better money [which is the aim] but I am a Celeb better exposure and media. If CBB can offer Frank Kellie Malonie a reported £400k, then David James, an ex- England player (pal of Becks et ) can easily get the £500k, similar to what Roy Keane was offered.

Kellie Maloney was interviewed on 5live recently and denied getting anywhere near 400k

unless C5 paid her in used fivers I think it would be hard to hide it, I could see Gary getting that kind of money but not a washed up boxing promoter.
