Sick Animals (PDSA) wrightstuff debate - walk that bitch 11.12.14
this is no shaggy dog story we need help from the law in humans food is a comfort glory and dogs have no switch off paw. its all about survival they have no compassion even there master they will rival eat everything with no left over ration. i have paid loads groomed and praised kissed and brush my love explodes positive on gonorrhea, syphilis,HIV,chlamydia and thrush. some got dirty and i can not describe in writing looking all Innocent and flirty but unwelcome was that vicious biting. A&E was shameful up me they did stitch but i attend the hospital like rainfall they no guilty of this is my "bitch". she don't come cheap wolfing food down like a gannet my local landfill must be 50% of her heap never has she worried about saving the planet. i do weep with a tissue because i had to be the ultimate creep the quack said she had a behavioural issue so coming home i thought it was only right to lay her to sleep. 250 000 have my same talk i hope my point did log you owe it to them to a 2 daily 1 hour walk this is what is involved if you own a dog. ( hand on my heart - i was writing this poem from seeing it on a news channel and when they done the paper review, i think it was Alexis Conran who covered this story and it also gave me more reason to continue. i can not understand why anyone would get a dog and not understand you have to walk them at least 2 times a day and i would say each walk should be 1 hour. not sure if i have been disrespectful in my poem but again i do not mean to cause offence and it is a joke. so tell me - how many times a day should you walk your dog - reply's have to rhyme - and if you get dirty i will muzzle you. lets have fun with this one please.you can find more out on this website http://www.telegraph.co.uk/lifestyle...g-contest.html or you can look into it here http://www.pdsa.org.uk/ ) |

How much time the dog spends on the lead,
In my opinion depends on the breed, A very large dog will need alot more, then a little Chihuahua who's legs would get sore

Doggies need lots of walkies
On this we all agree, But let's get it straight, I don't walk mine, Cos the little twats walk me! We get lots of healthy exercise No need of NHS or BUPA, With legs stretched to the max, and ditto backs, bending down with a 'Poopa Scooper' My dogs must think they're entrepreneurs, or in the 'Land Owning Class', Cos when we are out, there can be no doubt, They'll put down loads of deposits on grass. Yet, it's not the peeing or pooing when walking, which is really the reason I grouse, 'Tis just the fact, they wait 'til we come back, then do another load in the house!

In answer to the thread, "how much" depends on the size / breed of the dog and also their age. Little dogs don't need a lot (but should definitely still be out at least twice a day), larger and more energetic dogs need a lot more. Old dogs might not want to go very far at all and it can be cruel to force them as they can be in pain / get very tired.
Also depends how much "free time" they get outdoors and how much space you have. A dog that has a (large) garden or a field to run around freely in doesn't need walks further afield as much (but should still get to explore plenty, it's not an excuse to never take them). Dogs cooped up with no garden at all need out several times a day. IMO you shouldn't keep a dog at all in those circumstances, though. |
