A fair game or an entertaining one.
C5 seem to think (and I'm not sure if they're wrong) that viewers like the game to be rigged for entertainment. I much prefer Channel 4's 'nominate two people and the most votes are up' method which is virtually non existent now. It was like Big Brother was a computer.. inhuman.. I think the producers impact have completely destroyed the format on C5. It seems like a bunch of random events instead of a game nowadays. There is not one good reason why Perez should be automatically in the final or automatically up for every eviction. It doesn't make sense as a format of a TV show or as a gameshow, he just went up to the diary room one time and was told it was happening. Dumb.

Oh absolutely a fair game, I'm firmly on the "back to basics" team. I like Perez alot, think he's a fantastic HM but I don't want him just getting a pass to the final just the same as I didn't want helen to have one (that was even worse though because she got it on launch night so didn't have to worry about noms once or ever have to face the public like everyone else)

If they play the game fair, the storylines will develop as normal. Force feeding us crap allows the HM's to get into the game and then they end up running the bb team like Speidi and Perez are doing. This is not an American game show so why play it like that.

I don't derive entertainment from rigging. The very principle of that happening makes me resent the show, and therefore not enjoy it.
Just let things play out naturally. |

I like edge of my seat BB/CBB rather than predictable BB/CBB so playing fair is all good in my book

fair game, forced entertainment is always unwatchable to me. Why give the pass to the final to Perez, why not Kav or Nadia or whoever, without even a vote it just plain sucks

A fair game? I can just imagine it. Poster after poster on the MB's saying, "This is the most boring CBB ever....I'm not watching this crap anymore....why did we get rid of the most entertaining HM's so early on...." etc., etc.
Then the viewing figures would collapse, BB would be scrapped, and we could all sit back and watch re-runs of pathetic USA sitcoms on C5. Last edited by johne; 27-01-2015 at 01:28 PM. Reason: spelling |

And I don't agree with your suggestion that fair = boring. There are plenty of ways to spice up a series without outright rigging it. |

all this started with the showing of what was said in the diary rom a few years ago..never liked it and never will, let it be..hour long secret tasks yes, passes to final or up every week no..or allowing one housemate all the power on opening night, a definite no..unless we have voted for all those things then no no no.

Besides, aiming for ratings should never be the main priority. Putting together a strong and fair game should be.

I don't necessarily mind subtle rigging here and there to create a more entertaining house, for me that has been done for a long while, but when it's as significant as giving someone a pass to the final then thats just plain wrong.
Perez probably didn't do too well with the votes last eviction so out of fear he may be evicted they are giving him a pass to the final. |

I think people need to accept the social experiment is well and truly over. Just try enjoy it for what it is, if not switch off.

I like the rigging...but not necessarily like the idea of BB picking who will do what. For example, this secret room task would have been awesome if the British Public could have voted for who gets in the room rather than BB choosing Perez or who got to nominate on the first day instead of BB choosing Katie H.

I don't like rigging, but I don't think theyre really doing it either, they have nothing more invested in Perez than in any other housemate at this point. They do the stupid secret room/power twist every year so why does everyone think they thought it up for Perez? Perez was ready to go back in the house so they didn't do it to save him from leaving either. when it happens to someone who is hated everyone screams conspiracy. but if its a nobody no one thinks about it

More rigging for entertainment purposes any day. The public can't be trusted to make logical decisions for the benefit of the show, so I am all for production manipulation to ensure that the housemates who are contributing to the success of a particular series (if that's the case) are kept around. I'm quite happy to admit I would be pissed off if they were fixing it for the wrong people, but on C5 it thankfully hasn't really happened...yet.
The public shouldn't be able to vote and our format needs scrapping, but of course the revenue generated means that won't be happening any time soon, so the next best thing is for the producers to put a stop to detrimental public decisions that ruin series after series when they're just getting going. If anything I wish they'd take the rigging further. Start handing out final passes to housemates with the most social media mentions, eject housemates who do **** all. Bring it on I say ![]() |
