Default Why the slow start....answers

Its really quite simple. The following factors have killed a good start.

1. They showed everyone in the house what we thought of them in a matter of hours from the launch. That made the top HM,s complacent and the bottom feeders went all quiet to protect themselves.

2. They once again told them all, in the task, what the public thought of them and now they are all frightened to get out of bed for fear of repercussions.

3. The tasks are boring and uninteresting which gives rise to complacency and inactivity.

4. They need to cut out the luxury budget to get them at each others throats.

These are factors that effect the inside of the house but ........Once again BB have their favs and the edits are crap so the forums are dead and face to face noms are predictable. The prods are pretty clueless when it comes to what the fans want and have no idea how to stir the house up.

If they did this, they would get results.

1. Give false poll results and mess with their heads. Imagine how they would react if they were told that the twins were the most popular, Danny was the most hated, Sarah was the most deceiving and Aaron was voted queen of the gimps. They also need to be told that the number one hate from the publics side was emotional outbursts like crying and sulking. They also need to think they are getting bad viewing figures and we think they are boring.

Then they can sit back, do normal noms, starve them and feed loads of booze and watch them go.

I dont see it as being slow Im actual enjoying that there just chilling out and there is no arguments or people playing up massively to the cameras.

like everyone else has said in other threads its like the good old c4 days.

It's only because there hasn't been one big stand out argument, with the highlight shows following just focusing on the two involved. I've enjoyed it because we've seen equal amounts of different housemates.

The series usually starts slow though.

This forum didn't really pick up until week 2 last year.

that's the best part of C4 era, the arguments would build up slowly over time and then a huge explosion followed.

rather then previous C5 series where they have an argument day 1 and then its focused on that person for the rest of there stay and how many arguments they get in.

I really dislike how much information the HMs are given these days about how popular they are etc and info about eachother as well

I don't think it has been a slow start really.

It seems that after 3 series (inc CBB) of high intensity drama and negativity viewers seem to be shell shocked to come to a series like this where things are pretty mellow and balanced.

I think there has been the right amount of drama and calm this series so far. It has lacked one massive row although I can easily see that coming soon with this cast. They are slow bloomers in that respect.

I agree with the tasks, the daily ones haven't been good at all, just the usual standard stuff (Eileen's task is the only one that has been thoroughly entertaining). Although looking at this weeks shopping task it looks set to be a pretty good and entertaining one. The information HMs are given of what the public thing is really annoying. They were clearly hoping it was going to stir things up the other day but it really didn't.

I've only just worked out which one is Kieran and which one is Joel. I thought it was the other way round for days.

I don't think its been a slow start at all, I'm really enjoying this series, compared to last year which was so full on from the start with all the arguments, I think this year is a slow burner & we are getting to see the HM's personlities better than we did last years cause there were so my arguments.

Same, but it's nothing new. They've had these type of tasks since BB8.

I think any housemate with a brain would realize those tasks mean nothing, as people usually vote for their favorite/least favorites, instead of actually voting honestly. Not to mention opinions change almost daily.

But then again, this years bunch don't even know basic multiplication, so the above is out of the question.

The first week on BB6 resembled the opening scenes of Saving Private Ryan

I've seen BB6, and I still don't think BB16 has had a "slow start", just because there haven't been a million arguments already.

BB6 had a faster start, BB16's pace seems pretty normal so far. Definitely not "slow" IMO.

The show is not just about arguments and confrontations, and I much prefer a show with less of them. However, I expect the housemates to have layers to them that we peel away to see what makes them tick as the time goes by. This is where the show fails for me - and it is a personal thing - there is just not enough depth and substance to the housemates for them to remain entertaining for more than a few days. I've already stopped watching. I will watch evictions probably and may dip back in now and again in the hope that there is improvement, but I'm not holding my breath.

tbh i feel like a combination of casting and the producers inability to pull off a twist that actually causes drama. If you think about it c4 knew what they were doing during bb5-7 the kicked off the week with friction and and they interested the viewer into wanting to see more. The excessive twist stupid twists (that imo actually deters them from doing anything interesting) are also making the show unbearable for me. The casting back then was also much better, this cast is good its just that channel 4 was better because they would cast a different kinds of people that would interest you moments into. Also channel 5 seem to cast based on the individual, channel 4 would not only look at the individual they would also cast people that they know would hate each other, you can see this in bb5 where the first housemate was a really camp gay guy and right after him was a (from his vt) homophobic muslim guy, they casted personalities that would clash. Everyone back then was also much more outspoken, crazy and deluded which made for amazing moments.

also I've noticed with c4 when they had drama it was messy and funny to watch while a lot of the time on c5 (bb15 a prime example) its really uncomfortable and gets boring quick.
