Urgh I hate them, I would change my route to avoid them. And they do appear to be getting worse, shouting after people and trying to shame them for not talking to them. A girl waving leaflets at us for a children's autism charity tried to stop us last week in Glasgow, my wife stopped and said chattily to her that we already support autism charities and that our youngest daughter (who was with us) is autistic... The girl literally rolled her eyes at us, said "hmph" and shot off to try to stop someone else.

Still... They're not quite as bad as the ones who do the same thing but for Sky / TalkTalk / the big Energy companies. "can I just ask which broadband supplier you are with?". No you can't you nosy ****, leave me alone!

It is very aggressive canvassing, the charities involved are doing their reputations no good at all.

Couldn't agree more.

Charities are getting worse with their cold calling or canvassing in the street in the town center or knocking on my door.......i just want to shout **** off and leave me alone

The worst one was water aid ringing and asking me to up my donation, i said politely that i couldn't and i actually give to various other charities....my children then went on to be noisy in the background, this prompted the caller to say...."did you know that children often have to walk miles for water, even during the night, many children are raped or murdered as they make this journey.....how would you feel if that was your children...?"

Well the expletives that left my mouth would have made a navvy proud, i don't think he was expecting me to react like this, i told him if he carried on i would be cancelling my direct debit, and then he could be held responsible for people not getting water

I asked to be removed from the database and told him i'd hold him personally responsible if he didn't.......safe to say i've not received another phone call from them and that was 2 years ago

Good. I hate them. I support a few charities and I'll be the one to choose which. I also hate when charities set up in supermarkets and I go to put some cash in their bucket but they don't want it... they want my bank details and to set up a direct debit. I already support the Dogs Trust, but they are the worst for the direct debit thing.

THEYVE TRIED TO TUCK ME up many times too....ive NEVER trusted charity , even before the endless exposes of corruption and sick sexual assaults by these long line of celebrity charity workers....charity has long been a morality car wash for gangsters and all kinds fo celebrities....the likes of beckham bono phil Collins and co who pay a pitifully tiny percentage in tax (far less than you or I) then they come on tv giving an award for charity or asking US to give to charity...DONT PREACH TO ME, SHUT THE HELL UP YOU TAX DODGING GREEDY HYPOCRITICAL PARASITES AND PAY YOUR FAIR SHARE OFF TAXES... and I beiieve we pay more than enough to support the sick disabled and vulnerable in our society. the real fight is to ensure everyone pays their fair share and it gets to the right people

They're not so bothersome around here, probably 'cus they'd get stabbed if they were abusive as the ones encountered by other people.

Glad there's action being taken in areas where it's bad though, It's disgraceful some of the lengths they go to.
