As promised a while a go the Quiz that I did in June.
Questions first, answers to follow. Section 1 Television Adverts. 1) Which news paper used the slogan "It is are you" in its advert. 2) Which newspaper used the quote "The pen is mightier than the sword". 3) Strewth! Theres a bloke down there with no strides on! Which Austalian actor appeared in this advert for Fosters lager. 4)Which sweet treat advised us to "Tap it, unwrap it" 5) "Made in Scotland from girders". Which popular drink was this slogan advertising. 6) This advert used the image of a mode of transport used in the American wild west, along with the slogan, "Rollin, rollin, rollin". Name the product. 7) "I liked the product so I bought the company" This advert starred the company boss. What was the product. 8) In which decade did the egg marketing board first advise to "Go to work on an egg". 9) "Youll wonder where the yellow went when you brush your teeth with? 10) One for the men. Which mens grooming product used the slogan "A little dab'll do ya" Section 2 Television and flim catchphrases/quotes 1) Which singer turned tv host opened their show with "Whats your name and where do you come from". 2) "If the answers there, I'll give you the money myself". This catchphrase was used by comedian/actor Les Dennis when he was hosting which family based gameshow? 3) The following catchphrase "I mean that most sincerely folks" was used on the talent show Opportunity knocks. Name the shows original host. 4) "Thank you, goodnight and may your God go with you" Name the comedian who used this catchphrase to close his show. 5) "Permission to speak sir" Was one of the many catchphrases spoken by corporal Jones in Dads Army. What was corporal Jones profession n the series. 6) Complete the following catchphrase from the popular childrens show Crackerjack, "Ooh, I could crush a? 7) No...No...No...Yes were words that were often uttered by Jim Trot, when he was a member of which tv parish council. 8) In films Oliver Hardy was often heard to say to his partner, "Well thats another fine mess you've got me into" Name his partner, and the area of England that eh came from. 9) "Heres looking at you kid" Were immortal from the film Casablanca. Humphrey Bogart played Rick Blaine who was the owner of what type of establishment. 10) From Gone with the wind, name the character who uttered the immortal lines "Frankly my dear, I don't give a dam". Section 3 general quotes. 1) Which American actor said, "Courage is being scared to death..and saddling up anyway". 2) Which 19th century female writer advised us to "Look twice before you leap". 3) Complete the phrase made famous by music hall star Marie Lloyd "A little of what you fancy?. 4) Which British priminister stated that "There are a terrible lot of lies going round, and the worst of it half of them are true!". 5) "The physical scars caused by believing that you are ugly leave a permanent mark on your personality". This gloomy statement was made by which American comedienne? 6) "When choosing between two evils, I always like to try the one I've never tried before" Which early American screen goddess said this?
