That used to be the case but we'd get a bunch of people who would be like '___ infracted me?! OMG SO BIASED' People just used it as an excuse to demonise the mod who infracted them rather than accept the blame and move on.

And they absolutely used to post who was giving the infraction in the old days. The actual mod giving the infraction, it was in the PM when you got an infraction you could see who it was that actually issued the infraction.

It was a much more fair system.
Well the private appeals section was ruined by other members, not mods.

And there is still a discussion when someone queries an infraction and if other mods disagree with the infraction they do still come to your defense, even though you can't see it happening.

And TiBB Staff replaced the moderators name when infractions were given out because some members took personal offense to a moderator if they infracted them etc

Theres no need for you to know who gave you an infraction anyway imo.

We did used to have a private infraction appeals section where only the member in question and the mods could see the thread you made querying an infraction but it was ruined.
Define ruined, it was apparent by the infraction discussion thread that different moderators had different approaches and reactions to infractions, hence the removal and the tibb staff message, it renders every infraction faceless.

The tibb staff message was happening even before the private appeals forum was opened and yes it does render infractions faceless, that's the point, for the reasons myself and Dezzy have posted above.

It was ruined by members using it solely to abuse mods, further break forum rules, spam and troll that area whilst they were banned.

People just used the appeals section to bitch and whine, it was meant to be used for when you have a legitimate issue with an infraction or a mod's actions but there was only a handful of times when it was used for that. People would just use it to abuse the mods.

but to be fair, some mods are biased, and when it's a mod that clearly doesn't like you, and it's the same mod over and over and over again...that is the only one issuing you infractions...

you know that some mods DO dislike certain members, and DO target them... and that's not fair.

Except we aren't, some people just can't accept that they are in the wrong and think that the rules do not apply to them. Everyone gets treated the same, the only people that accuse mods of being biased are the ones that expect special treatment.

Do you think? Oh I don't agree I think it was great for discussing things with all the mods, it ensured a more objective overview of any given situation.

Alex it's pretty much impossible for us to be bias when giving out infractions because all other mods and admins see anything we do and they do question things, if they think we've been too harsh or the infraction wasn't deserved and so on, I know it's difficult to believe but it happens, you mention you've have infractions reversed in the past so doesn't that prove what I'm saying? and we also do make mistakes at times and when it's pointed out to us that also gets sorted out.

That's no doubt because you were only seeing your own private threads though, whereas we were seeing and dealing with every infracted members queries every day.

i don't think we expect special treatment, we want fair treatment. i think we are upset because it seems we are getting special treatment/punishment. There should be no special anything, treatment or punishment.

Some people are targeted by certain mods. That's a fact.

It was a case of the majority ruining it for the few.

Alex I just double checked with James and he confirmed that the anonymous infraction system was brought in 1 month before you joined the forum, so you have never received an infraction from a named mod.

Well won't that be the same still?
Anyone can reply to a tibb staff message, the difference is not all mods will be able to respond to you directly.

well maybe that's true, and maybe it's because i got warnings from certain mods and warnings did have names on it, or maybe it's just because you see certain mods hovering around certain forums and you just know who it is that way.

It isn't a fact though Alex

Just for an example looking at only the first page of your infractions you have been infracted by 4 different moderators (out of 5 infractions)

Nobody gets special treatment, no one gets targeted, it's impossible for a mod to be biased, the other mods wouldn't stand for it. If you're getting a lot of infractions then you should try not breaking the rules. You get treated exactly the same as everyone else, Alex.

maybe that's true dizzy. but i definitely feel like some mods like me better than others. and if we could see who gave the infractions maybe that would prove your point. transparency of the infraction system i think would be better for everyone, mods and members.

You know what if the 'wrath of dezzy' wasn't forum legend... I'd believe you
