Default China to end one-child policy

China has decided to end its decades-long one-child policy, Xinhua news agency reports.

All couples will now be allowed to have two children, the state-run news agency said, citing a statement from the Communist Party.

The controversial policy was introduced nationally in 1979, to reduce the country's birth rate and slow the population growth rate.

However, the policy led to concerns over China's ageing population.

Wonder how they decided this.Maybe the queue in the post office was particularly small that day.I don't fully disagree with a one child policy if it is really warranted. How to enforce it is another matter though.Maybe at the birth of the first child the mans tezzas are surgically removed.

Over here there's alot of Chinese girls (pretty much always girls) adopted so I presume if they have an extra child or have a girl and want to try for a boy, they put them up for adoption? I don't know though that's just an assumption based on the amount of adopted Chinese girls here

anyone without the resources to care for more than 1 child needs this policy, and those people exist on every continent.

the biggest step to defeating overpopulation (especially by poor people) is to empower women. In countries where women have more power and equality they have less children.

If you want less children, then give women more power.

If you are concerned about overpopulation then you should absolutely be a feminist.
