So we all know that removing a dictator usually destabilizes a region as proven by Iraq for example.

However Syria is currently one of the least stable countries in the world right now.

For every one civilian killed by the evil ISIS there are seven killed by the Assad regime.

Would removing Assad actually save lives in the long run.He currently is more dangerous to the Syrian people than ISIS are.

Should the Assad regime and ISIS and Al Nusra and whoever else all be destroyed?

No, I don't think it would be wise. It could whip up more anti-west sentiment there as well, considering he is someone who has been elected unlike the Saudi King.

He won two elections where he was the only candidate and one that took place dubiously in the middle of the civil war and lacked any monitoring. He has now governed Syria for 15 years after taking over from his father who governed for 30 years: its not exactly a model of democracy.

That said, we should not get rid of him. He is a dictator but the two things that are clear in Syria is that he has no intention of relinquishing power and that the Syrian state and the Syrian army are really the only forces capable of defeating IS in the country. It's unfortunate but we cannot get rid of both Assad and IS and he has to be a part of any long-term solution to ending the conflict there.

I think there is a lot wrong about him being a leader of a Country but I have come down on the side of no as to him going.
I think the UK govt is completely wrong to keep making a major issue of him going actually.

Probably not. He's a dictator, but he's still a better option than most alternatives. Probably should have listened to him when he said most of the people fighting him are terrorists and not "brave rebels" too

no, assad was trying to turn syria into a modern secular state, before the west tried to have him overthrown, he has powerful friends now with russia,china and india, some years ago oil and gas was found in syria, and the west does not want china to grab it, having some puppet leaders to overthrow assad would be daft because there will be no stability for the country, and isis would take the hole country and whats worse than having wahhabism in your country, and europe will end up with 80 percent of the syrian population which will cause civil war in the eu,

why would having more syrians cause civil war in the EU?

because you will end up with racial and religious tension in every city in europe, civil wars in the balkin states, after the USSR broke up, are still fresh down there, and it could come back, but with every country in europe fighting, its like the bosnian war, but bigger, there is a big reason why both eastern and balkan countries have said no to the refugees,

so you are expecting Europeans to be racist towards the new Syrian refugees? I don't think it's fair to have such a low opinion of the character of Europeans. So far we have seen many efforts by Europeans to welcome the refugees and integrate them into their societies.

That being said, i understand your concerns. most societies have a very poor track record of accepting NOOBS. but america is doing relatively well considering we have 11 MILLION illegals in our country...
