Default I found £100 in the street yesterday

So was walking to work and on the way I spotted money on the pavement. At first I thought it was just £50 but when I picked it up I realised it was £100.

I waited around for ten minutes to see if anyone came back frantically looking for it but nobody did.

I was toying what to do with it, considered taking it to the police but in the end I spent it.

Before anyone moans I did not spend it on me. With one fifty I got my friends a round of drinks, the other fifty I gave to a big issue seller.

What would you have done?

you heartless swine!

I'd have posted it on a Harrogate FB group (with over 15,000 people on it), saying that I have found a certain amount of money, and I would hate to have that happen to me, so if the person who lost it could tell me how much they lost and a rough area of where they lost it, then I would give it back.

and if no one replied, I would probably keep it, spending some of it on me, most of it on presents and then some of it on a homeless person/someone in need

Unless I could see the person that just dropped it I'd just keep it and spend it on whatever

I'de have felt really guilty for the person that lost it,but realising if I didn't have it someone else would so yes I'de spend it after I had kept it for a couple of days, just incase I found out who's it was.

Same here. But like Ben, I wouldn't have been able to spend any on myself, I would probably have given it to somewhere like say the Salvations Army.

Finders keepers, how are you able to lose £100 like what kinda flop pockets do you have? Even if it was £1000 I would still keep it, nobody has handed in things I've lost.

Its a tough situation to be in, you did the right thing by waiting and then giving it to the Big Issue guy
