Villa rescued a point from Leicester City which should give them a scintilla of hope, it will feel like 3 points. LCFC were in the same position last season. Could AVFC use them as inspiration and stay up or is it too late?
AVFC have been teetering on the brink of relegation for the last 4 seasons now but have escaped mainly due to fact there were always 3 sides worst than them. Can AVFC stay up? I am not a fan but would be sad to see a "sleeping giant " leave EPL they are a club with a rich history and massive fan base. Remember they have been won 1982 old Champions League final against Bayern Munich which seems absurd now Last edited by alex_front2; 26-04-2016 at 07:38 PM. |

I think it would be really sad if a great club like Villa would get relegated from the PL. They deserve to be there but this season they have been awful.
Hoping for a miracle for them. |

I would rather have a top flight stalwart like AVFC in Premier League than Middlesboro, Derby or quick return Hull.

They brought in a manager inexperienced in the premier league and have far to many Foreign players and owners that don't give a **** and relegation has been looming ever since O'Neil quit

I always think British players are what you need in a relegation fight. Especially locals who love the club and are fully committed to saving the club in the league. Hope Gabby Agbang and Grielish can do something. Foreign players do have a habit of upping sticks to Fenerbahce or Marseille rather than accepting next season will mean away trips to Huddersfield and Rotherham. Having said that Juninho loved Middlesboro.

Was obvious this would happen. They've been on the verge of it for years and sold their best 2 players in the summer. If they want to give us our money back we can return Benteke though.

It's nothing to do with the manager or the foreign players it's the owner who's given up/trying to sell but no one wants to buy because of FFP. He should be protecting his investment ,ore wisely but he's been gambling on us just scraping through every season to pick up his TV money but this year it's come to bite him in the ass I think we'll probably just go down but if we get Debuchy, a striker and a new keeper well run it close No way we're coming back up either. Only positive is Garde, who's my favourite manager in some time, intelligent dude who'll get us there eventually if given the time. Oneill left us in the lurch and was overrated anyway, Houllier was good, McLeish was awful, Lambert was mundane, and Sherwood was ****ing abysmal, possibly our worst and I pity whomever ends up with him next. He's probably the main reason we're in this position Last edited by King Gizzard; 17-01-2016 at 07:59 PM. |

That is true
And you have to spend loads for mediocre players which makes things worse, Grabban, Afobe etc etc going for 8-10m each it's a joke Last edited by King Gizzard; 17-01-2016 at 08:00 PM. |

They were doomed the moment they appointed Tim Sherwood.

Sunderland have stayed up three years running by bringing in a different foreign manager each time
Villa are doomed though |

I want Bournemouth, Norwich and AVFC to stay up.
Nothing against Newcastle but Mike Ashley needs to have his @rse tanned. |

If they can convincingly beat Stoke @ Britannia it could kick start their recovery

Ffs, lost against Stoke, not even a draw. No wonder the AV U21 beat them. Not even a he best AV team.

Bournemouth aren't that bad. They are the worst affected EPL side with injuries*. Plus they beat Chelsea and Man U back to back.
* Arsenal, Man U, Man City, Liverpool fans can moan all they want, Bournemouth have played most of this season with up to 11 first team players missing. Except unlike Klopp, Wenger et al Eddie Howe never mentions it I suspect Remi Garde will leave in May . Last edited by alex_front2; 27-02-2016 at 05:47 PM. |

Rarely see a team with less fight. Strange that Garde escapes criticism, problems with the board have always been there surely but it was never this bad under Lambert, McLeish or Sherwood (sure Nathan will agree)

Jessica Meuse was robbed.

Unlike us who are suffering financial issues, Aston Villa could pull themselves out of it if the owner was willing to spend, instead he chose not too so he has to deal with what comes their way now which is more than likely relegation. And as an interesting fact Aston Villa finished in the top 8 in Martin O'Neil's last season.
