It seems as though Celebrity Big Brother bosses have been asking everyone on Gogglebox to join the show.


This week it was reported that Chris Steed and Stephen Webb had signed a deal to join the Channel 5 series in the summer.

A source said of getting the best friends in the house: "Everyone’s really excited at the prospect because they are so dynamic and they already know they make great TV.

"They're fan favourites and their dry humour is bound to be hilarious in the house.”

But it turns out that they may have not been the first choice, with their co-stars on the Channel 4 programme revealing they had been approached too.

Friends Sandra and Sandy claim they have turned down an offer to take part in Celebrity Big Brother to stay on Gogglebox.

Reacting to the story about Chris and Stephen appearing, the pair tweeted: "Ladies was offered to go on big brother but we said no tanks. Gogglebox is our show..woop woop to Stephen and Chris x”

It's understandable why some Goggleboxers may be hesitant about signing up.

George Gilbey became the first viewer from the show to join Celebrity Big Brother back in 2014 but had to quit Gogglebox in order to take part.

However his popularity did eventually see Channel 4 invite George and his family back on the show.

The new series of Celebrity Big Brother will air on Channel 5 in the summer.

As much as I like them, was George not proof enough that these people are not remotely entertaining personalities on a regular basis? They just seem funny because they have accents and overreact to some stuff like they're told to.

Would prefer stephen & chris over them, I can actually see ONE of them becoming a cbb villian, the one without the glasses, he's just got a very james jordan vibe about him and could potentially turn out a complete dick... Hope they'd still be aloud on gogglebox though.
