She's found herself on the same side as the three Americans which is not a strong position ....they each will save the other first before saving anyone else....if team America sail to the final then Katie would be bottom of their pecking order.

She nominated him because he's an annoying twat, not sure what the problem is here. Would you not nominate someone who was breaking the place up and bullying people? Would anyone really want to live with someone like that?

This is such a reach. She quite fairly nominated him because he's a self-confessed arsehole. Bear himself has said it's a game so why is he so upset over being nominated?

She got upset because he treated her like dirt after, too.

Bear is a character and Katie knows that....if she don't like him then good for her but at least stand by it like Aubrey does for example...anyone, including Katie, who expects Bear to take his killer noms on the chin are as deluded as the people who expected him to be ok with someone spitting in his food. He just ain't that type of guy and neither would I want him to be.

Thats one of the things I like about him....but Katie had 12 people to choose from ,she chose Bear ,thats fair enough its her vote, but to turn on the water works straight after doing it is as fake as ........

The thread isnt about Katie nominating Bear it's about her back peddling, grovelling and crying about it straight after.
At this stage she has backed the wrong horse and she knows it. Not her best move especially as it's her first one.

Bear is a bully. Bear threw the biggest wobbly after the noms were over by saying he wasn't going to speak to anyone who voted for him. He also made threatening remarks over the fact that they 'thought he was bad up until now...now I'm going to be worse'. Bear has serious issues IMO....he maybe giving us something to watch but much of the time it's uncomfortable viewing. I find him interesting to watch but it's not enjoyable...like Marc and Helen. I really don't understand how people can like him and support him just because he is 'making the show'.
Katie seems nice enough...but she won't be able to stand up to a bully like that....not her best move..why? Because she isn't strong enough to deal with his bullish remarks?....

Her best move would have been to keep Bear on side like Saira has....Bear is playing up to a character ....of course he's gonna react the way he did, he's playing the game and he's chosen the bad guy formula instead of the good guy one. For her to be surprised by the reaction is a bit naive. Big Brother ain't for the faint hearted and she must have known that before she entered the house....no point crying, she's got to toughen up and not give a sh-t like the others who nominated him don't. I like her but she ain't gonna get very far.

Well I guess if you want to play the game then keep him close, but you run the risk of being seen as a hypocrite and an arse licker. Katie is just being true to herself...she wants him out. She shouldn't have to deal with a reaction like that...but like you said it is BB. Keeping Bear on your side is one thing but at some stage you will have to turn against him and that will enrage him more. If Sairas planning that then good luck to her. Bear was pissed off at Heavy nominating him....what did he expect he has been snogging Chloe in his face to wind him up...
If he has chosen to play the bad guy...then play it. Don't go throwing your toys out the Pram when people turn against you. He can't have it both ways.
Maybe he is as guilty as Katie...maybe he should OWN IT.

saira is appearing to have more faces than big ben and none of them likeable or trustworthy. what she's doing is only clever inasmuch as it'll keep bear from attacking her directly - for now - and, in truth, that's less to do with her tactic than lewis saying basically she was off-limits as part of their clan.

what saira has done, and what katie would have done by following that route, is open herself up more to the public's vote of displeasure come evictions. as things stand, katie's come across as weak but i think viewers have a better understanding of why she did the groveling thing (afraid of him targeting her) and will weigh that up against her having the courage to nominate him anyway... it comes out in her favour or, at worst case, in balance.

i'd like to see her toughen up, too, but some people just don't have that in them.

I agree actually....I may be wrong and keeping him on side isn't her best option if how Saira now looks is anything to go by, your right ....but if she's gonna go against him, or any housemates, she needs to expect to not be very popular for a while and stop crying about it. His reaction was completely predictable so she must have expected some back lash.....she seems too sensitive for the show, including previous shows.

Katie is seemingly a very nice housemate. I think she finds Unbearable too overpowering. The best thing all of them can do is completely ignore him and not react to anything he does. Nothing. Befriending him will not work (Saira) placating him will not work (Renee) and bawling him out won't work, neither will reasoning. He is a narcissist and can only talk, think and react about himself. If the HM's blanked him he would have no oxygen left to strut.

It's only a matter of time before he starts threatening to leave. He will do this the moment he imagines he is not getting the attention he imagines he deserves...
