As an older woman I need to ascertain why so many of my peers seem to be attracted to Bear and previously BB17 MARCO PW. Women old enough to be his mum. How can a grown woman like Renee see anything sexy about a man child?

I'm an older woman (much older than Bear in any event) and I find him and Marco absolutely repulsive - mainly because of their ghastly personalities and gross antics, and don't find them remotely attractive.

I can understand why older women would go for younger men, no problem and absolutely acceptable. It's just those particular men the OP has mentioned whose appeal I can't understand.

Exactly! People for some reason have this idea that men and women are different, that men are just "horny dogs" but women are somehow above it but it is not true... just a social perception. Women and men are pervs, in exactly the same proportions. Of course not ALL older women are interested in younger boys but not ALL men are interested in younger women either.

The difference I guess is that no one really bats an eyelid if an older guy admits being attracted to a woman in her 20's, whereas it's seen as "weird" for a middle aged woman to be attracted to a young male, and so maybe it's traditionally been more common for them to hide it .

Some of the older women who come into my work, early in the morning to place their little Ł1 Irish Lotto bets, are incorrigible flirts . Totally shameless some of them. It's just a bit of fun but yeah... there's this totally false idea that it's only older men.

In fact I remember it going right back to school age when the age gaps were negligible. People found it totally normal for an 18 year old (or even up to 21 or so) to be seeing a 16 year old girl. But people were like " WEIRD what's that all about??" if a 17 year old girl was with a guy even just one school-year younger.

I don't think it's as widespread as you are reporting, and as for Marcos fiancé maybe she was attracted by his cash and his name rather than him, same for Laura who seemed to get over his exit pretty sharpish and Emma went back to her boyfriend

I don't see the appeal in Bear at all, he's an annoying twat and a very bad actor. I can see why people would fancy Marco though, he is physically attractive without a doubt and a bad boy rather than a child.
