From the Daily Mirror:
By Vanessa Allen 27/02/2007 TITANIC director James Cameron yesterday unveiled a 2,000-year-old "bone box" - and said it was Jesus's coffin. It is one of 10 metre-long caskets discovered by builders who stumbled on an ancient tomb near Jerusalem. The others are allegedly caskets that held the bones of Mary, Joseph, Mary Magdalene and Judah - said to be Jesus's son. In New York, Cameron showed a press conference the caskets of Jesus and Mary Magdalene - calling them "one of the greatest archaeological finds of all time." He said one has "Jesus, son of Joseph" scratched on it in ancient Aramaic while the other has "Mariamne" - Mary Magdalene's real name - in Greek. Another casket is said to have the inscription "Judah, son of Jesus". Cameron, who has made a documentary about the caskets, said the find bolstered the theory that Jesus married Mary and had a child. He added that finding the names of the holy family together was the equivalent of discovering a grave marked Ringo alongside a John, Paul and George. Cameron said DNA tests on the coffins showed Mary and Jesus were not related - further proof they may have been married. But he has angered clerics who say claims that Jesus had a coffin contradict Christian belief in the resurrection. And Amos Kloner, the first archaeologist to study the caskets when they were found 26 years ago, branded the claims "nonsense". He added: "They are the most common names among Jews at the time." What do you think? |

Why is it a load of old scrote? Makes you think though doesn't it. I find it quite interesting and it will be good to see how the story develops.

It's full of holes. How do they connect these random caskets to Jesus the son of God. The Beatles reference is a daft analogy because I think there probably are caskets with those names on them buried next to each other. It's one hell of a leap to find these caskets and then connect them to the son of God.

Doesn't mean it's not true though does it? They could be. Maybe we'll never know, but the possibility is there.

But my general feeling is that I am too cynical to accept that this is the son of the man who created the World and impregnated a 12 year old girl (Mary) without her consent/acknowledgment - and strangely has the ability to heal the wounded/dying. Bit too far-fetched in my opinion ![]() (I think I'm too cynical haha) |

We will most probably never know the truth. "God" is a faith and a belief. It depends what you believe in, and how you perceive it. The unknown is interesting though, like my favourite unanswerable question about space & eternity. How can space go on forever? Surely it must come to a stop. But how can it? Something would have to stop it. |

Stop with all the metaphysics and existentialism it always leads to headaches.
I agree with Lauren. The bible is an extremely contradictory book but it talks of a second coming. If there is ever a second coming of Christ the Christians would be the last ones convinced. |
