she is wrong. another hard line left wing liberal ....20,000 kids molested in rotherham because the social services and police were too scared of political correctness. why the heck does she put women in with minorities anyway? women are a majority? its time we seperate disabled rights from womens rights and treat disabled rights in their own right. In the past 30 yrs disabled rights have been drowned out by diversity and by the demands of feminsists. The biggest irony of all, the so called peace loving, caring, open minded liberals are the ones who openly advocate violence on the streets way way more than the tories

I liked the video, and I think she made a good point. A lot of people take these Easter egg stories very, very seriously without realising that most liberals are in agreement. I wasn't actually aware it was a fake story!

I personally, however think that the main conflicting issue is people believing that they are above PC or immune to it.
Many think that they are not at all PC.. but refuse to acknowledge that there are dozens of words that they would not use because of the offence that it causes.
Everyone is a little PC, some more than others. It's up to each person to draw a sensible line. I personally believe lefties and righties have a very similar line for most topics.. but there are some either end of the scale that take the piss, I've found that these people are often disliked by lefties and righties alike.

What happened in certain areas was in no uncertain terms wrong, and I'm aware of the excuses used for those injustices. What happened in Rotherham happened in other boroughs covering all areas and all parties, read Nick Davies ' Dark Heart' it highlights the issue up and down the UK.

That however is not what is in discussion here, it's the shouting down of those who have taken the time to look closer behind media headlines such as the one purporting that Cadburys had removed Easter... That was believed and repeated without question.
And it was ' PC' that was purportedly to blame for this imaginary scenario.

But why would you take notice? Maybe thats the difference? A lefty hears a PC person say no easter and they think something along the lines of 'lol shut up, i do what i want' but this thread makes it seem like rightys hear a PC person say no easter and they respond with 'how dare you tell me what to do and think this is an insult to my culture and a very big deal'. You really dont need to get worked over a few peoples opinion, especially a person so far along the PC scale.

You wouldnt listen to the worlds most un-PC person giving you advice on which offensive words should be brought back, so why listen to the worlds most PC person giving you advice on which inoffensive words should be banned?

Macs work well for what they are but to be honest they are waaay over-priced. That said, fewer and fewer people are using home computers / laptops at all these days, it's mostly tablets and smartphones. Sad.

He has a great point, my conscience might tell me that cuts hurting the disabled are wrong... Were I to voice that the reaction could be ( and in my personal experience has been) my views are a result of being lefty or PC, it's a lose lose situation.

I think the real bug bearer is this new suggestion that any empathy shown to people less fortunate than ourselves is feigned empathy from the pc brigade... we have to do it because its none pc to do otherwise!

Well this is it, it's almost considered unfashionable to voice any empathy whatsoever you are then nothing more than a 'bleeding heart'.

Another made up term that is (or was before 'pc' became the preferred option) a slur to anyone who finds cuts (for instance) a false economy.

But more than that as highlighted 'pc' i being used strategically to pit people against one another by alluding they affect 'shared values' as seen with the Cadbury example, when in reality they don't at all.
