Hello all!
Really hoping one of you can help me. Basically, I'm writing an essay on the rise and fall of Big Brother for Media, and I need some quotes to back up what I'm saying. I remember either reading, or listening to someone on a TV show saying something along the lines of "by Big Brother 8 the show was a fully fledged show for fame hungry wannabes". Does this ring a bell with anybody? It may have been one of those TV moment countdown shows, or something along those lines. I had a similar problem finding the show where Philip Edgar-Jones said they had to do "more producing" on the later series' of Big Brother, but managed to find it in Big Brother: A Decade in the Headlines. I hope this makes sense. |

Too glam to give a damn

Hmm, it's hard to say what that quote may be from because I imagine lots of publications have said something similar. I think Charlie Brooker has wrote a lot about the show before, and he discusses it on his own to show

I think it might be in Narinder Kaur's book about Big Brother

Cheers, this is a pretty good one!
“In later series the show became increasingly known for the instant fame it could give to housemates - and the daily dose of gossip it could provide to the public. The idea of ‘social experiment’ largely disappeared from descriptions of the programme, to be replaced by words more along the lines of ‘freak show’.” Now that I've racked my brains even more, I'm sure it was on a show I heard it. I'm positive it was followed by the clip where Chanelle, Charley, and Laura are talking in the bedroom, and Chanelle and Charley tell her they are in there for the fame. |

South-East London It Girl
|
I'm Charley, i'm 21, i'm the southeast london it girl
I've had various jobs. Retail, i was a lap dancer...but i've been fired from all of my jobs so i'm unemployed at the moment i go out, socialize with my friends, meet new people. I don't work and i still get to shop and all that...i go to celeb hangouts, meet great people, just blaze it up and have a laugh i tend to go out a tuesday, a wednesday, a saturday, and a sunday...sometimes a monday if i'm feeling in the mood i love money my cousin is kieran richardson and plays for manchester united. He bought me a mini and through him being my cousin i get to meet hot footballers and go to places that most people don't really go i would hate it if i was in the house and you put me with someone...stinky. Just someone that i really have nothing in common with it would bug my brain out i think i'd be bringing different trends to the house, different hairstyles i'm trendy, i'm wild, argumentative, and i speak so much. I'm flirtatious and i'm hot -- there you go, enjoy your perfect marks.
