For as long as I can remember, I have had a fear of the floor collapsing. I think it started when I was little and read in the newspaper that a truck had been under a bridge that collapsed. That seemed to introduce me to the possibility. To find out that something you've trusted can fail at a young age can be somewhat traumatizing. Now I am scared when I'm in homes, apartments, etc... my fiance and I live in an apartment in a tower block. Sometimes it scares me and other times it doesn't. I get terrified when i think about how heavy the couch is, or the fridge, or especially the washing machine when it's loaded and running. I get nervous bringing home heavy bags of groceries. I feel like there might be a sink hole and I'm going to die!

I get a bit anxious in the bath...always think for some reason the weight of the bath, the water and me together will go through the ceiling Its ridiculous really...though I am sure I read a story a while back of this happening to someone

When I was a kid I was scared there was a volcano under my bath and I'd boil to death in the bath because of that scene in Dante's Peak where the couple go swimming and boil

It truly scares me. Especially with the water thing since I saw it happen to Bianca on Eastenders. Anyway also with doors I always think if I slam it it'll fall off and shatter into a thousand pieces and blind me.

That scene haunted my nightmares for ages after watching that. Also the old lady in the acid lake

It might be, depending how tall it is and how high up you are. My ex lived on the 20th floor of one of those and you could feel the building move when it was windy..

Best move if it is a real phobia, then you will sleep better.
My fear was always a snake coming up the loo and biting my bits, or out of the grid at the swimming pool. Still get it now and then if I am stressed, even have to check the bed if it gets really bad. |

This is me, it's made even worse by a tiny hole in my ceiling from when the position of the light was moved years ago, I feel like someone could be spying on me through it.
