What do you get when you send eight 21st century lads back to the time Roman Empire to see if they can cut it as gladiators for a reality show?
ITV2's Bromans, of course.
The new TV series will follow eight modern day couples as they try to live and fight like gladiators did 2,000 years ago, with the boys being trained in daily, physical tasks by the fearsome Doctore (David McIntosh, otherwise known as Tornado from Sky1's Gladiators reboot), while the girls will help them prepare them for the Emperor's Games and immerse themselves in ancient Roman tasks – from wine making to sculpting.
Only the very best of the boys will make it to the Emperor's Games, a grand final in a colosseum in front of a crowd, which will see one of them emerge victorious and take home the Emperor's gold (which is worth £10,000 in modern times).
Those who can't cut it as a gladiator will be banished from the city.
"ITV2 will be transporting eight sexy couples back to ancient Rome this Autumn with the arrival of Bromans to the channel," said Paul Mortimer, Head of Digital Channels and Acquisitions.

This is honestly beyond embarrassing now, commissioning Survival of the Fittest off the back of Love Island's success was one thing but this is even more ridiculous. Get ready for the 400k viewers.
