We have one in the sitting room under the TV but the only time I ever use it is at Christmas to play some Christmas music, I'd be more inclined to put some music on the lap top from you tube or something normally

I still like to use a CD, especially my xmas ones. Can't be doing with all this technology. I forget how to use the CD player as it is. |

I've got a CD player if that counts doubles up as an iPod speaker though (although I think it's now broken thanks to the spillages at COL)

Spoiler: Sonoro SO310 (Matte Black) Mini System INC Speakers Sleek style and packed with features, the Sonoro SO310 is the perfect solution to compact Hi-Fi. Powerful 2.1 sound quality Compact enough to be unobtrusive but powerful enough to fill even a medium-sized room with sound, the Sonoro SO310 is a complete system in miniature. When it comes to sound, though, the SO310 is anything but. Stereo speakers match up with a dedicated 4 inch subwoofer to give a full-range and natural sound quality. With 80 watts of power and a DSP (Digital Signal Processor) the sound strikes the perfect balance between power and control. The sound of nature. Built-in Uniquely, the SO310 comes with six, pre-installed sounds of nature. For soothing ambient sound, try ocean waves, bird song or crackling of a log fire! Bluetooth streaming Getting your favourite music from your smartphone or tablet to speaker is easy when you Bluetooth it. Simply pair the device with the SO310 and you're good to go - high quality, cable-free music with near unlimited access available from your smartphone's music apps. For the highest quality sound, the SO310 is compatible with the aptX format. DAB/FM radio With a choice of DAB and FM, the SO310 is well-equipped for tuning into a wide range of radio stations. DAB (Digital Audio Broadcasting) gives access to the widest range of stations in the UK, in crisp and clear digital sound quality. In case your favourite stations aren't available in DAB, the Sonoro is also equipped with an FM tuner. Boasting RDS for station naming, this is almost as easy to use as DAB and still provides great sound quality. Six radio presets are included for fast access to your favourite stations. CD player Featuring a slot-loading CD player, the SO310 is also compatible with your existing CD library. Suitable for playing back a wide range of file types, including MP3 and WMA encoded discs, the SO310 is an extremely flexible player. USB and AUX inputs The built-in USB interface offers a range of handy features. First off, you can connect up mass storage devices and playback music files. It's also suitable for charging your mobile devices (at 5V/1A) and firmware updates. For other sources there are both RCA phono and 3.5mm inputs, letting you connect up two further devices. Add in a headphone socket plus RCA phono outputs and you can see the SO310 is as well connected as most full-size hi-fi. Dual alarm and dimmable display Making this perhaps the ultimate bedside system, the SO310 comes with a comprehensive clock and alarm system. There's a dual alarm plus the option of waking to CD, the pre-set nature sounds or a beep signal. Sleep and snooze are both standard, as is an automatically dimming display. Packing a full Hi-Fi system into a compact case, the Sonoro SO310 is the complete entertainment package. Ł599 this is the way forward Last edited by Niamh.; 01-11-2017 at 07:50 PM. |

We have a bluetooth speaker in t'kitchen and it doubles as a radio. It's left on for the dogs on a Friday which is the day they're left in on their own for a few hours but otherwise only comes out if I have a party!

Spoiler: this is a beauty “The D-M41DAB is impressive proof that great pound-for-pound hi-fi sound need not always mean several separate components” What Hi-Fi Award Winner 2017 Bluetooth now standard For the first time, Denon’s best-selling Hi-Fi mini system comes with Bluetooth connectivity. This lets you wirelessly connect your smartphone or tablet and stream your stored music or favourite streaming services such as Spotify, Apple Music and Deezer. For improved sound quality when not using Bluetooth, a simple switch lets you power down the circuits, creating less internal electrical noise. The compact system that still puts sound first Denon’s baby Hi-Fi systems have always been renowned for putting sound first and the DM41 DAB is no different. "Simple & Straight" circuit design minimizes distortion from the input selector, electronic volume control and power amp for sound purity and very low levels of distortion. Working alongside this, Triple Noise Reduction Design (TNRD) works to preserve the signal quality for the most accurate, life-like sound. DAB radio The Denon DM41 DAB comes with an impressive sounding tuner radio that's comprehensively equipped. Featuring DAB+, DAB and FM (RDS), the tuner has all your radio needs covered and, as ever, puts sound quality first. Top quality CD player Many of us still have a sizeable CD collection and it’s here where the DM41 really excels. Denon’s first-rate engineering gives CDs a smooth, dynamic sound. The player is also flexible enough to playback WMA and MP3 encoded discs. Connect up three other components Although a brilliant system in its own right, the DM41DAB reaches out to your other sources, too. If you've got a TV, games console or TV set-top box, you can plug them in using the two standard optical inputs. An analogue AUX input is also included for older sources. Pump up the bass with an optional subwoofer By fitting a subwoofer output, Denon gives you a wider choice of speaker options. Instead of medium-sized or floorstanding speakers you can use an active subwoofer with small satellite speakers - the choice is yours. Perfect for a second room The compact size makes the DM41 DAB ideal for serious sound in a second room. Many have used their previous Denon M-Series systems in bedrooms, studies and kitchens and have been delighted with the results. The clock, sleep timer and headphone output all help improve the systems functionality. Proper Hi-Fi in a compact box – the Denon DM41 DAB still leads its class. only 250 Last edited by Niamh.; 01-11-2017 at 07:50 PM. Reason: flippin giant pictures |

We have a DAB stereo/cd player in the kitchen that also lets us listen to playlists from our phones by bluetooth.
And my sister has just given me a bluetooth jukebox (which prompted me to make this thread) but I dont know whether to keep or not |
