A moron on the NYC subway punches a woman in the face for objecting to him taking up too much space with his manspreading. Thankfully for her, not so great for him, there was a real man on board to put him in his place.

She did the right thing. Some guys can be so selfish. I too would say something if some idiot tried doing that to me. Unfortunately for the woman here this guy was a particular brand of moron.

We need more like him to stand up to such idiots. Strength comes in numbers and if more people called these people out, the less risk involved and the more effective it would be. The knowledge that people are scared to get involved is what allows such idiots to get away with it. There were a lot of people on that rain - but only two stood up.

That made for interesting reading because it was so TRUE. It definitely comes from stereotypes and subordination and it is up to those that get that to not conform and not just ignore it.

You may be right about the handbag to some degree but urrgh to the other comment. Do you really think women want to see men sitting their with it all hanging out in the same way you don’t want to see her doing the same thing.

It is annoying and intrusive when men do that especially when physically invading the space of another with their body parts. A handbag is no comparison.

They usually spread as much as possible, and sometimes slouch way down in the seat do the people opposite them have no ****ing space either. Its so common here on the metro. So basically, doing the splits and lying down
