Celebrity Big Brother reveals the truth about 'towel gate'

The truth about Celebrity Big Brother 2018's 'towel gate' has been revealed.

Just one day into the new series and there was tension in last night's first episode.

Ann Widdecombe and India Willoughby bickered about beds, with a disagreement over which of them should have one of the limited single mattresses.

India took up one of the two single beds in one room, but Ann felt it was hers after a personalised towel was left on it.

Refusing to move, India insisted it was 'first come first serve', eventually forcing Ann to sleep alone in the second bedroom.

During last night's Bit On The Side, the truth was revealed.

Host Rylan Clark-Neal confirmed that the bed with the towel as indeed destined for Ann to sleep in.

He said: "Celebrity Big Brother did intend certain beds for the housemates."

Despite the launch evening clash, there appeared to be no hard feelings between Ann and India.

The pair high fived one another before settling down for their first night in the house.

Of course whether or not things will stay so friendly remains to be seen.

Pretty sure they’ve never done that before? It must have been to cause an argument then, surely (if it was placed on the bed after India had already claimed it)

seemed like a bit of an experiment to me to see who would follow the rules, Ann was the only one who cottoned on to the fact that they were allocated beds or at least she was the only one who was wiling to follow the rules, whether that was because she wanted the single bed in that room or not is another matter

I think it was a consideration of Ann and Amanda's ages as it was only those two who had towels with names on on beds. Amanda is sleeping in hers. Elderly Ann was ousted to another room.

I'd be happier in my own room if i were Ann although the boys will be coming on Friday, atleast India offered to swap with her then though

was it really though? I can imagine them forgetting the names were on the towels, putting them on the bed and then being like ‘OOH YEAH WE DID THAT!!’

India seems very nice, and I have no problem at all with him deciding to live as a woman

But he aint one, and the sooner people stop pretending that trans people have actually changed their sex (impossible to do) then we can all rub along nicely
