Some surprising nominations, I'm glad Get Out got a nod for Best Picture and Best Director but Wonder Woman or Logan really should have been nominated over Dunkirk. The fact that Patty Jenkins got snubbed for Best Director is shocking. I'm fine with the acting nominations, don't see any major snubs there.

One of the more surprising aspects for me is in one of the lesser categories, I'm surprised Beauty and the Beast didn't get a best song nomination, obviously they couldn't nominate any of the original songs but I thought Evermore deserved a nod.

I'm pulling for Three Billboards to sweep everything, my mind might change when I see Shape of Water next month but until then Three Billboards to win everything tbh.

James Franco is a pretty surprising snub from what I've read, can't help but wonder if it's because of allegations...

I'd say so, Oscars will discount an oscar worthy performance if the actor makes bad choices regarding other films that year or are wrapped in controversy, Eddie Murphy's a good example of both since he was hotly tipped to get a nod for Dreamgirls but the mix of releasing Norbit in the same year and the controversy of him rejecting his daughter with Mel B nixed his chances.

It'd be nice for Lady Bird or Get Out (or CMBYN, but the hope for that seems to have rapidly disappeared) to win Best Picture, but it's Three Billboards' to lose, unfortunately

Oh, I'd hate it if CMBYN won Best Picture. It's a good adaptation of a truly terrible book but it's still overwhelmingly pretentious and I wouldn't put it on the same level as Three Billboards at all.

If it wasn't for the LGBT aspect, I don't think CMBYN would have had any impact.
