to play devil's advocate: it hasn't been proved yet it was actually Assad who used them; there's always a possibility it was done by somebody else to get the west to blame Assad and get involved. Many actors could be at play: Iran, Turkey, Israel, Saudi Arabia, Isis, etc. Just sayin'.

A lot of photos going around the net showing mock up of injuries....some blaming the white helmets for faking it.

well this has to be coordinated with the french and the USA and neither are jumping to immediate action. Immediate action prior to Monday's restart of parliament is the only reason not to go to the house for a vote, and that seems unlikely now. Also, from the grape vine, it looks like Trump is going to be quite busy looking after his own personal interests in the next few days

Would it not be more sensible to try getting some independent investigators in to investigate before lobbing cruise missiles in?
What’s the objective? Is it just to take out chemical weapons plants and missile silos/airbases as a punishment?
Because what starts out as one thing usually turns into regime change in these countries.Assad is a disgrace but what may come in his place may be worse when the alternative is a load of Islamist Jihadis.

The French president has the evidence. A targeted strike at chemical weapons dumps is no big deal. Would you prefer to leave Syria and the Russians to it, and just wait for the next event here? Because it becomes much more likely if the world lets them away with it.

btw isn't a chemical weapons silo just like a nuclear weapon silo, one explosion and there will be a toxic cloud so basically trump is gonna murder some innocent people as well

My worry is that it could be about more than just taking out chemical weapons capabilities and turn into toppling yet another dictator and creating another power vacuum.Only this one is much more dangerous as it’s full of Russian interests.Russia won’t let Assad go down without a fight. You saw how fast Putin acted in Ukraine when his ally was ousted there. This could go very badly wrong.
I won’t lie.I don’t like it.
