[A six-year-old boy is stranded in Belgium
due to a dispute with the Home Office over his passport, according to reports. Mohamed Bangoura was born in the UK in 2012 but had been staying with family friends in Belgium during the holidays. Mohamed was due to return home to his mother on Sunday but was stopped from travelling after Belgian officials said the Home Office had told them he could not travel to the UK. According to The Independent, the Home Office said it sent a letter to Mohamed's mother, Hawa Keita, to tell her that his passport had been issued in error and had since been "revoked"] This does not make sense he was born in the UK. I think I'm a banana tree

Without clicking on the link, it came to light that a certain midwife was involved with falsifying birth certificates for illegals, so I guess some of the children who were ostensibly born in the UK but delivered by her might get the eye of suspicion on them as well...

She needs punishing, as do the illegals she helped. It's just a shame that British born children get caught up in it, but I'm sure they'll be sorted.

Triumph of the Weird

But if we punish the parent/parents, even if the child is able to return home, they may end up incarcerating their parents anyway, potentially putting them in a financial bind... so they may end up with extended family anyway... not arguing against it, just not sure how that thinking follows through... what is ultimately better for the child may actually end up being a lot of worse... the media doesn't tend to follow through on these stories after the interest is gone... so the child may disappear into the system and we may never know what actually happens to him. So we don't know the true effect of our laws in that sense... we just catch the most sensational bits.
