It doesn't matter whether they 'only' asked the nanny what her pay was (why was it their business?) or worse. The bottom line is that they should not have been anywhere near his children or their carer. It doesn't matter who is right or wrong, or right or left. Harrassing, shouting at, talking to, someone's children because of the parents politics is completely unacceptable.
