Default 250 free-to-use ATMs closing every month, Link figures show

Alot Closing in Scotland

[It has been revealed that free-to-use cash machines are being withdrawn at a record rate of more than 250 per month.
Figures from the operator of the largest UK network, Link, showed 1,300 ATMs being shut down over the five months until the end of July.

A lot less use for cash these days tbh... e.g. it's pretty normal to pay with card in bars these days when even 5 years ago using cash was more usual. Even buses take card payments now .

Yeah, it's all changed. My only use for spare change was for parking around town and even those allow card payments now. Still though... It's always nice to have an ATM nearby. Some shops still don't take card payments and some pubs/shops (near me anyway) have a minimum spend.

No one should charge for this

instead of PC crap this is what a Government should be tackling, as well as fuel cost
