This keeps popping up as a recommended. I like Christina Applegate the show doenst look like something I'd like.

...it’s one of those series though../..those types of characters that has you laughing out loud one moment and then holding onto your heart in the next moment...and the OMG moments just keep on coming and coming...

I think I'm on episode 6. I really like it. I believe it's produced by Will Ferrell/Adam MacKay as well and there's that whole circle of Apatow-isms in the writing that stick out at times.

It does stretch the imagination a little too liberally at times (I would've shot someone if that balloon that came flying back down had Judy's confession in it ) but I think the two leads are played strongly enough to gloss over some of the show's flaws.
