Politics and religion can make for lively debates, as long as the attendees know how to conduct themselves and don't just screech insults or go on self-aggrandising rants.
Bad dinner table discussions are disimpaction and vivisection #yumyum

We all watch Come Dine with me and dream LT
![]() I actually hate cooking for friends and actively avoid it, but when I have had the occasional dinner party politics and definitely Brexit are to be avoided Mr C was slagging off Brexiteers on a recent trip to Spain when we ran into our neighbours and it was clear from the looks on their faces they had voted out so I had to intervene as he wasn't picking up the signals

Brexit would be the worst topic would think, the old religion and politics cliche does not work as literally no one is religious anymore and as such would not care.

Remembering Kerry

At present, politics inc brexit.
Any dinner functions I go to, whether smaller dinner group or a bigger function. I'd avoid politics. I've never seen a divide as bad as there is now. I admit I'm less tolerant myself too. Positions now just seem to keep hardening. |
