A teenage British boy in Tenerife is said to be in a serious condition after stabbing his parents then throwing himself down a steep ravine.

The 15-year-old’s parents are also in hospital after the attack.

It is thought the boy is being treated at a different hospital from those where his parents are being treated.

According to reports, the mother was taken to a health centre, near Los Cristianos, in Arona.

The father is being treated at the University Hospital Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria in the north of the island.

The incident happened close to a bus station in the resort area of Costa Adeje on the holiday island, and was witnessed by tourists, according to reports.

Police have described the attack as very violent and have launched an investigation.

At this stage, it is being treated as a case of family domestic violence and the mental state of the teenager is believed to have contributed.

It is thought the British family lives in Tenerife, rather than being holidaymakers.
