Default Should Children be in Pubs anyway? SPOONS 2 DRINK limit for Parents

Wetherspoons slaps two-drink rule on parents who bring kids to pub

Wetherspoons has slapped a two-drink rule on parents who visit pubs with their children.

Parents were angered after a poster stating the policy was put up at a Wetherspoons pub
after children were said to be running around "uncontrollably".

However, it has emerged that this a nationwide policy and pub managers can stop any customer
buying more than two alcoholic drinks each, if they have kids with them.

The poster was seen in a pub in Gravesend, Kent, last week, but has since been removed, reports The Mirror.

The poster said: "As part of our licensing it is our responsibility to ensure that
we are protecting children from harm. "Therefore adults in charge of children
will be allowed to have one alcoholic drink and a further alcoholic drink with a
sit down meal."

People used to do it a lot before but I think it's a kind of frowned upon now

In Scotland children under 14 can’t be in pubs by law but since I’ve grown up in both the culture is different in england and pubs are way more family orientated.

Its fairly cheap to eat in there - that's why a lot of people take the kids. It can be absolute bedlam though

9pm here I think, I think the two drink limit is pretty unenforceable, as it could be two triple vodkas or two halves, I think they should just ask families to leave if they are being disruptive
