Default Tibb's Choice Playlist: Films

With people staying in and lockdowns and quarantines probably not too far off, we're all likely going to have more time on our hands so I had the idea of creating a playlist of film recommendations from Tibb Members. The idea is that every member that wishes to take part recommends a film that they love (that is ideally available on streaming services, on demand in some form or will be broadcast on TV in some form) and we'll create a list of recommendations that you can refer to if you're in need of some quick entertainment as, for many of us that aren't at risk of dying, the real challenge will be boredom and maintaining good mental health in the coming weeks.

We could potentially do this with games and TV shows too although I might leave other people to do those threads if they so wish.

Think it's a good idea?

The Playlist
Contagion
World War Z
I Am Legend
Planet of the Apes
The Shining
Parasite
The Deer Hunter
A Silent Voice
Gran Torino
The Social Network
Seven
The Sweetest Thing
Sinister

You joke James, but there will (definitely) be an upsurge in domestic violence. Which is awful but inevitable.

ANYWAY I thoroughly recommend Parasite having seen it now. Wasn't what I expected in the slightest (I was waiting for the literal parasites to start bursting out of people) but a great film.

It's a good idea.

I use https://www.justwatch.com/uk to find out which films and TV are on which streaming services.

I'm going to recommend A Silent Voice which is available on Netflix with both dubbed and subbed options.

It's such a good film and I'd recommend it to everyone. It's touching, it's got a great message to it and it's just a rewarding and emotional experience. The fact that it's an anime might put people off but it's one I'd recommend to all.

Love it, Dezzy!

Can we also ask for recommendations? I've been keen to get stuck into an action/crime/thriller type tv show or film with LGBT-centric characters. Would love any suggestions.

It's from the makers of Violet Evergarden isn't it? If so I'll definitely check it out eventually.

I'm gonna nominate the first Sinister Film starring Ethan Hawke, it's a Horror Film which I know will be controversial like your Silent Voice pick, but I think that it's a great modern Horror Film imo with a strong acting performance from Ethan Hawke. Also to anyone that likes The Ring will surely like this Film imo.

****ing hell I sounded like a critic then.

I'll try to keep my suggestions more basic next time in terms of my reviews.
