Aw Kizzy, I understand totally your worry here.
For me it was easier, I got my Mum over from Republic of Ireland and into my home before the first lockdown.

I've been able to look out for and ensure she is as near 100% safe as is possible.
I know how relieved I am to be able to do that, so I fully understand your need and hope to see your Mum and you yourself are safe too.

On the surface, you should be okay still attending to your Mum's needs.
As others have said, it's more you are in her support bubble.

There are unfortunately differences of conditions in different areas of the UK.
Some in restrictions, some in near full lockdown, others still rumbling on to some normality, some with little restrictions

However, as Ammi and Cherie have indicated, you should be in the identity of a support bubble for your Mum.
So should be fine to continue to support and assist her.

You know her ways and her needs more than anyone else likely so that is the ideal solution to helping see to her needs.

I commend you on your care for her and concern at maybe being restricted not to.
I cannot see where you shouldn't continue as you have been for your Mum.
They are precious individuals.

So I hope everything is and goes well for you all Kizzy..
Thinking of you.

If your mum lives alone she is in your support bubble and you can treat her as if she lived in your home.

I had the same wobble as you when we went into local lockdown with my dad being alone but we have been able to carry on as normal with him legally.

Thanks so much Joey and Annie it means a lot you've all taken the time to put my mind at rest about it.
I can't really treat her as in my bubble because we work, I'm around a lot of people a lot of the time. My sis has asthma so she is in mums bubble. I can't risk her coming here and limit my time in her home ( in the porch) as I can't risk being around either of them.
I suppose we're lucky really to have the porch it's a kind of 'safe space' easy to keep clean but she can still see and talk to us :/

I understand that.
It's so hard and all you'll want to do is keep her safe.
It is good you have the porch.

You are correct however, although it was because he was NHS staff.
A friend lived with his Father who had a serious health condition.
He was advised to leave the house and live elsewhere so as not to put his Father at risk.

That was in the full first lockdown.
He still could go to the gate and see him to wave to and take him things.
Not really talk to.him and go in the house.

You having the porch is an asset with these restrictions in place still now.

I really do commend your concern and determination to protect your Mum Kizzy.
This virus is truly detestable.
Cruel in so many ways.

Aw it's so hard isn't it? I've had the same dilemma for the last two weeks as my son has been isolating due to a confirmed case in his class so we've had to stay well away so we didn't pass anything to him. We've also limited the time spent there since Matthew went back to school and have social distanced whilst there and then cleaned as we've left. Horrid times

...it’s not really a positive thing as such...but the thing with the COVID and everything COVID related...?....is knowing that no one is ever to feel isolated in their worries and wobbles and anxious moments etc...because we all go them at different times and over different things and in different ways...so no one is ever ‘alone’, you know....

All you need to know about coronavirus compliance officers and what they do...

As the government warns that coronavirus marshals will be a common sight on UK streets for the foreseeable future, local councils have already engaged staff to monitor restaurants and bars, on the lookout for illegal lock-ins and late-night drinkers.

Boris Johnson has warned that COVID-secure compliance officers are being employed to enforce social distancing rules to help stop the spread of coronavirus.

And as a 10pm curfew on the hospitality came into force on Thursday City of Westminster inspectors were out in force peering through pub windows on the lookout for anyone breaching the rules.

Venues and business owners could face fines of up to £10,000 if they do not abide by the curfew, which could be in place for up to six months, as could members of the public who flout the ‘Rule of Six’ and other restrictions.

In Cornwall, street marshals were introduced in Camborne, Helston, Newquay, Redruth, St Austell, St Ives and Truro in July.

Crazily, having all these venues closing at the same time pushes everyone out on the streets at the same time creating pedestrian congestion

There are some beaut masks available at £3 or £4

It bemuses me when I see celebs or sports presenters wearing those drab cheap white masks ..

Interesting how the government was happy to use tax payers' money to bail out the banks, but aren't so happy to help the tax payers...

(yes, I know it's an entirely different government at this point, but still!)

A clip on SkyNewsHD
in Oldham, showed Police going into a Chicken take away
as after 10PM they are meant to be Delivery Only.

They sold Hot Food to some blokes
at 10:40PM, the officer gave that place a Warning.

If they do it again
£1000 fine.

Great post Ammi

I had a bit of a breakdown today. Feels like all my anxieties and worries and financial worries and family worries all piled on top of each other and one thing just made me snap. It made me scream and it upset the kids

But I feel like as this all gets worse again we are all going to have good days and bad days and we all need to look out for each other

I think we are handling this all wrong, I think we should be financially and/or emotionally supporting anyone at risk of death from the virus, but given the vast majority are not, with occasional exceptions as with any disease, the majority of the population should carry on as normal and police themselves ie if there are vulnerable family members living with them or that they visit then take the necessary precautions

I think it is stupid locking down 18 year olds in halls for instance

yeah i think so too ... we could keep everything running and take extra special care of the vulnerable. A 3 month lock down was acceptable at the time ... but being lockdown 6 months+ every year is not going to work

I’m confused about the law, my flatmate has COVID, and so I am self isolating. Does this mean I can’t go to the supermarket to buy both of our food/shopping also? Because we need groceries soon

You would need to order them online, and have them leave the groceries at the door/limit contact as much as possible

...Jake.....it wouldn’t upset your children for very long because they know that it’s not you...they don’t associate a loving parent with being upset...in that moment, it’s not something you could do because you obviously felt a need to release as well, which we also need...?...but again, these things can be turned into a ‘positive’ opening in asking if they have any worries/questions etc. themselves...just any aspects of anything at all that they might be unsure of..?....maybe do something together like making a worry tree or some such similar activity thing for your older child to hang any worries she may have on the tree so you and Mrs Jake will see them...

If someone in your home is self isolating because they are a confirmed case everyone in the home has to isolate for 14 days even if no symptoms. No leaving for any reason.

If someone in your home is self isolating because they have been in contact with a confirmed case, only they have to stay home.

Thousands of people have gathered for an anti-coronavirus restrictions protest in Trafalgar Square, London.

None of those at the "we do not consent" rally appeared to be social distancing or wearing masks as they demonstrated against government rules.

Protests are exempt from the rule-of-six restrictions, but organisers must submit a risk assessment and comply with social distancing.

Police said the rules were designed to keep people safe from a lethal virus.

The Metropolitan Police said enforcement of distancing rules and dispersing crowds "remains a last resort but will be undertaken if required".

Earlier, police confiscated a makeshift riot shield from one man.
