I'm not saying it's right to deface monuments, but a lot of people that also fought for us and our freedoms in both world wars are called "immigrants" today and told they're not welcome.

"Also" ? It's not a monument for white people, it's a monument for everyone who fought in the wars.

That's not his point. What's the point in getting up in arms about a monument to ALL of those soldiers when in this day and age the non-white ones are being told they're not welcome? If I were them I know which I'd find far more disrespectful.

there isn't a monument built that wont be seen as controversial to some group or other. Personally, i see monuments as an extension to worshiping idols which i'm not a fan of

disgraceful this yes but, the more things in remembering the war victims for me is the remembrance services itself, the moments of silence, laying of wreaths, poems by young children (about any stories of any relative who died in any war)

that said, a memorial stone is still a nice gesture and should be respected
