I followed the case with great interest. I have just watched the 4 part series just aired on the BBC but I still think he was guilty of deliberately shooting and killing Reeva. I found the series bias in his favour...I have moments of believing his story but too many things don't add up....any thoughts?

I watch nearly every minute of the court proceedings avidly at the time ..
Don’t feel the need to ever look at the case again.. it’s clear in my mind he was 100% guilty . Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

I was never in any doubt that he was guilty, and I'm getting more and more angry at the BBC and the editorial choices they have been making. They had to withdraw the trailer they had for the program because it didn't mention the victim once!

I wasn't sure he was guilty until his trial.
I was convinced then as all was scrutinised more. The prosecutor was incredibly relentless. Never easing up in any way on the challenge to all Pistorius was trying to portray as events. |

Reeva Steenkamp was the first face of Avon cosmetics in South Africa... Reeva Steenkamp broke her back in a horse riding accident during her final year at university... the doctors said they weren’t sure whether she would ever walk again... While Reeva Steenkamp then decided not to practice law, she later applied to the Bar in 2011, and hoped to qualify as a legal advocate before she was 30...she planned to start a law firm to help abused women... Reeva and her mother were long-time advocates for women suffering from violence and abuse... Reeva dreamed of opening a shelter for abused women and children - and regularly gave speeches promoting awareness for domestic violence victims...on the day before her death, she took to Twitter to urge her followers to wear black the day after Valentine's Day in protest at violence against women... Had she lived, Reeva would have delivered a speech to a group of teenage girls the following day, urging them not to give in to emotional abuse... In the early morning of Thursday, 14th February 2013, Reeva Steenkamp was shot and killed by Oscar Pistorius at his Pretoria home... https://closeronline.co.uk/celebrity...-tragic-death/ https://www.thefamouspeople.com/prof...nkamp-5523.php Last edited by Ammi; 14-11-2020 at 07:50 AM. |

Yes I read about that. You had better not watch the programme then because it seems full of Oscar sympathisers.... |

I remember this story was everywhere at the time (back when i read through the papers). Funny how we forget these things as time moves on! I was a bit like Joey, wasn't sure at first until, and as the trial progressed. Half way through and beyond i was convinced of his guilt and still am.
From what i remember he was very 'gun happy' and somewhat of an ego maniac. He is 100% guilty imo.

Plus he's known for his trigger happy behaviour, the guy has serious issues ! . He's crazy . If people are sympathising with him ,then it puts me off watching it . |

I haven't seen it but I remember the trial and watched a lot of it as it happened, free from documentary bias. I was utterly convinced at the time that his story was nonsense and I can't imagine that has changed. I think we discussed it on here too. I don't know that he specifically meant to kill her, but I think they were in the midst of a blazing argument, she locked herself in the bathroom, he tried to bust the door down and then when he couldn't he lost his temper, got his gun and started recklessly shooting at the door.

Yeah I was working a lot at the time (back when I worked in a physical location!) and I do distinctly remember spending a lot of time with the trial on the telly behind the counter and yapping away on TiBB on my phone during quieter hours.
My WFH work habits clearly aren't a million miles away from my old work habits . |

Sentenced in 2016...looks like the PR exercise to integrate him back into the public eye has started

Its family and friends obviously supporting him. By the end of the 4th and final episode I just felt that it showed too much bias on his behalf. Ultimately he was found guilty of murder...because firing 4 shots into the toilet cubicle was a deliberate act of killing 'whoever was in there'... With no jury we were all left to make our mind up on which story to believe. He is up for parole in 2023...he got off lightly. |

Quite frankly, he could do without it. He needs to come out and stay low profile for the rest of his life. |

I hate anything that gives too much bias towards someone, especially if they're clearly guilty AF
