Probably the best move tbh.

Sir Keir has said he considers himself a socialist, and that he's intending on keeping much of Corbyn's proposed policies, so maybe he should openly champion some of them, so people can't whinge that he's against unity in his party.

If only Starmer treated the opposition with as much contempt and ruthlessness as he does the Socialists of his own party.

Instead of all the nonsense.
I have never thought Corbyn an anti-Semite.
He likely is a stronger supporter of the struggles of the Palestinians, rather than Israel's struggles in that area.
That doesn't make him an anti-Semite however.

Whether he has the Labour whip or not, he has party membership.
As a backbench MP,he has the freedom to say what he likes, when he likes, then be judged on it.

He's never now going to be elevated to a higher level of politics, such as Shadow Cabinet or any other role.

All he had to do was agree with the EHRCs report.
Admit things were handed badly.
Then state a clear support for implementing the inquiry's findings.
Which cannot be argued against.

Then just see out his remaining time as a backbench MP, maybe even standing down next election.

I think Starmer has acted as appropriately as he could, with no apology and the questioning of the inquiry findings, he has done just about all he could.

This really is an issue that should be worked at by all to get over.
Starmer will implement the EHRC conditions of independent investigation and disciplining of future anti-Semitic instances.
That's the way to go.

Never again, ever must the Labour party or any other party allow themselves to go down the road of this shameful set of instances.
Not handled correctly or fairly.
Racism of all kinds, discrimination and anti semitism must never ever, be brushed under the carpet or even tried to be so.

(list)
How does someone with so little personality or charisma, with fairly generic policy ideas which largely matched what Ed Milliband put forward ... how does someone like that cause such waves in politics?

Well I hardly think politics was on DA’s mind when she signed the letter , I wouldn’t be surprised if the letter was their idea and they called in some favours ( 31 favours to be exact ) .

To discuss actual issues, not photo opps. Poor from you, Matt, but not unexpected these days.

Also trumps "I don't like critics" excuse.

Assumes that the PM is unable to discuss actual issues because they were photographed together on a staircase

What does 'these days' mean

Like Johnson suggesting trump should get a nobel peace prize and continually fawning over him?

Just noticed a bit of a dark turn in your posts from corona and the 2nd wavers comment right through.
