...just 4 months after being let out...(..I couldn’t fit the whole thread title in...)....
...and it’s obviously good that he was recalled but he was said to not have been an imminent risk by a whole team of people in the first place for his release to happen...in those 4 months, was another child/other children abused...he was imprisoned indefinitely just 10yrs ago for 36 offences including attempted rape of a child and sexual assault...our justice system really doesn’t seem to fit so many crimes atm...



A primary school teacher who filmed himself sexually abusing his pupils has been recalled to prison just four months after being released.

“Predatory paedophile” Nigel Leat captured on camera the attacks he carried out on five young girls over the course of five years at Hillside First School in Weston-super-Mare, Somerset.

Leat, who is now in his 60s and is also known by the surname Russell, was jailed indefinitely in 2011 after admitting 36 offences including attempted rape of a child and sexual assault.

He was released from prison in November last year but a source told PA news agency he had been recalled to prison last week for breaching his licence conditions.

In making its decision last year, the Parole Board said Leat was “suitable for release”.

The panel was told he was not an “imminent” risk in the community and all the witnesses who gave evidence - his probation officer, prison psychologist and prison offender manager - recommended release on licence “would be safe at this point”.

One of Leat’s victims said they were “horrified” when he was released from behind bars.

She added: “The fact that he has been recalled after just four months of being out of prison speaks volumes to me.

“I was horrified at the fact he was released at the end of last year in the first place - and the Parole Board were made aware of all of our fears. Now it is evident they are completely justified.

“If he hasn't committed another crime then he must have done something that made his probation officer extremely concerned for the public's safety.

It's baffling isn't it? I thought everyone (who wasn't a paedophile) agreed that hurting children is the worst thing you can do? Who on Earth thinks risking any childs safety is worth gambling that this monster might be ****ing reformed?

It's weird innit. Molesters (and even "normal" rapists) have to be segregated in jail for their own safety if the reason they're in jail gets out, and even then I can't see the prison staff who have to look after them being especially nice...

Why is it that literal criminals seem to take the worst kind of crime against children and women take it more seriously than the people who are supposed to be protecting us all?

Yh with cases like this I just struggle to understand our criminal justice system. Who in there right mind would think it would be safe to release a pedophile and risk the safety of those children?

Exactly, if they can hurt a child once then they can easily do it again is how I see it when it comes to Paedophilia.

Sexual abusers/rapists in general are rarely dealt the justice they deserve. It's a ****ing outrage that's been part of the justice system forever. Only a few rapists are ever convicted, and the sentences tend to veer on the light side of things for the most part. You'll get a few like this twat who gets indefinite sentences but those sentences rarely mean that.

Why would anyone think it's even possible he's been "reformed" or rehabilitated?

As far as I know, sexuality is pretty rigid, apart from odd occasions where someone might fall for someone of the sex they're not usually attracted to; being gay can't be cured, so why would they think being a paedo can be?
