He's taking on the challenge of playing the villainous Captain Hook in a new Peter Pan movie. And on Tuesday, Jude Law showed he's mastered the metal appendage to his right arm as he filmed scenes on board the Jolly Roger set in Vancouver, Canada. The British actor was seen in costume on the ship set looking through a long telescope, holding the end of the instrument up with his character's hook. Law was surrounded by a cast of extras playing his crew as the cameras rolled. He was dressed in a red waistcoat and long blue top coat with gold naval-style markings. The usually dapper star sported long hair and a straggly full beard for the part. The Jolly Roger ship has been constructed in a large commercial parking lot in the Vancouver suburb of Richmond, close to the Fraser River. The live action film based on J.M. Barrie's much loved story is titled Peter Pan and Wendy. Pete's Dragon director David Lowery is at the helm with child actors Alexander Molony and Ever Gabo Anderson in the leading roles. The Walt Disney Pictures feature is an adaptation of the studio's classic 1953 animated film Peter Pan and is set to be released in 2022 on the Disney+ streaming service. Law is the latest in a line of actors to take on the role of Captain Hook, who stalks the magical Neverland pursued by the crocodile that ate his severed hand while seeking to avenge his injury on Lost Boy Peter Pan. Previous incarnations of Hook have been played by the likes of Dustin Hoffman and Jason Isaacs. The decision to do a live-action version of the Peter Pan story came following the success of live-action versions of other Disney animated classics such as The Jungle Book, Aladdin and The Lion King. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbi...dailymailceleb |
