I'm 30 and tbh never had what I would call a proper relationship.

Lots of sex, but nothing serious.

How did you meet your partner?

I have got my notebook out ready to take notes.

My Mum keeps nagging me to join to join a running club or something.

I'm married, we met at a night club, he was a friend of my brothers (one I'd never met) and I bumped into my brother at this club so i went over chatting to him and then i went back to my friends and when I left he was asking my brother who i was etc and he ended up introducing us and the rest is history

Saw Mr C eyeing me up in a pub, then he came over and offered to buy me and my friend a drink, then we saw him again in a Club afterwards, again with the drinks though he was on a soft drink himself, the next week he did the same thing, this went on for a few weeks, then he asked me out a few times, I said no a few times, then after another 4 weeks after we had rinsed him for further drinks, I said yes, we moved in together 3 months later, lived together for a few years, got married and have been together for 28 years, few bumps along the way but we are still hanging in there

To be honest, there's no recipe for it. It just happens at the right time and you make the most out of it to make it work if it's worth it to you.
It can be scary to fall in love, challenging and questioning but in the end it's a lot of happiness to feel loved and love back.

And 30 is not old, you will eventually find someone to share a tea pot with.

The people I find sexually attractive just don't find me sexually attractive and I won't compromise.

I have never understood people who can't be single. It's like they're afraid to be alone? or is it easier to just get with someone else to deal with the heartache?

I don't think I could give all my energy to someone and then move on so quickly.

I've had loads of men, but just not in that way

Do you think that is where you are going a bit astray though, sexual attraction is only part of the deal...you need to get on in your every day and friendships can grow into partnerships just like mad sexual attraction can fizzle out, you need to stop looking at relations as purely sexual maybe 10 years in you won’t be having the same mad sex you did when you first got together and if you hate their personality then it literally won’t last, that’s my view any way

Yeah and I see what you're saying. Maybe not sexual attraction then but physical attraction. There has to be something there initially regardless of personality. I think so anyway. Everything else will come after that and the personality will keep the person

Yeah I'm not looking for perfect.....there is no such thing... When I say compromise, I mean, I just won't date someone I don't find attractive and those that are interested just aren't attractive to me.

One advice I always give my friends is that at this point, you're 30, you can wait for the first divorces from people who got married in their 20s. They're a little bit damaged but will want to forget their divorce and that's where you come in.
