Cardiff’s ‘answer to the Mona Lisa’ which represented ‘diversity and inclusion’ has been PAINTED OVER by McDonalds to advertise their burger range.



The artwork , in the Butetown area of Cardiff, was created last spring, and has now been carefully covered by ‘mustard yellow’ paint in preparation for the inclusion of a McDonald’s burger advert.

Stephen Doughty, local MP, angrily demanded to know what McDonalds ‘were thinking’, in a heated tweet today.

Yusuf Ismail, a local art project organiser, claimed the move by McDonalds was ‘racially motivated’

I guess they're trying to do the right thing but the audacity to be the ones responsible for the murals covering up and then 'instruct' the artist to 'immediately' repaint the exact same mural
