Default Movie reviews.

Like the TV Show/Anime Review thread, and the Reading review thread, but with Movies instead.

10 - Masterpiece
9 - Great
8 - Very Good
7 - Good
6 - Fine
5 - Average
4 - Bad
3 - Very Bad
2 - Terrible
1 - Appalling

Basically I'm hoping for us all to build up our own decent databases that will be used for recommendations to watch in the future.

But if that doesn't work then I'll do it by myself.

Anyway again I'm only going with Movies that I've watched recently as they're more fresh in my mind on what I exactly thought of them.

In order:

Live Action:
1. The Silence Of The Lambs - 9/10 - I Again had slightly underscored it in retrospect.
2. Die Hard - 9/10 - The same as SOTL.
3. Tron - 9/10 - The same as the other two.
4. The Grudge 2004 Movie - 8/10
5. Twilight - 7/10 - I know that this is gonna be a controversial opinion, but for the kind of Film that it is it's actually not that bad of a Movie, I feel like I was slightly harsh in my scoring looking back on the Film as some of the scenes are very memorable which I see as a good thing.
6. Paddington 2 - 6/10 - In retrospect I thought that the Film was okay.
7. Detective Pikachu - 4/10
8. 365 Days - 1/10

Animation:
1. Monsters, Inc - 9/10 - I definitely underscored this Film.
2. Rise Of The Guardians - 5/10 - A decent villain, but overall just not a very memorable Film.

Japanese Anime:
1. Saga Of Tanya The Evil: The Movie - 9/10
2. Drifters: The Outlandish Knight - 8/10 - Technically it's an OVA I know, but as it was only one episode long I decided to class it as a short Film.
3. Princess Mononoke - 6/10

Donghua:
Haven't watched any yet.

A rebranded way of doing my reviews.

Live Action category
Animation category
Japanese Anime category
Porn category
Donghua category
Hentai category

On-hold:
Blade - I did enjoy it, but there were a lot of interruptions when I tried to get into the flow of the Film.

Prey - 5/10

Five sounds like an insult, but it's not meant as one. The film was literally fine, it was okay.

Basically a beat-for-beat of the original Predator, but in a historical era and with a female lead. But tribal Americans are probably the least interesting historical thing there is a Predator against Vikings, Romans, Ancient Egyptians ... Something like that would be more interesting, but the one they went with allows them to use a forestish setting, so it was closer to the original.

I know some morons are whinging about the character being a Mary Sue, and she isn't really. She's a bit of an insufferable Girl Boss trope, but not a Mary Sue.

I'm not making fun of tribal Americans they're just not as interesting as other historical groups. Especially as tribal Americans still exist!

But sure, if they're an interest of yours that's fine

The problem with these streaming services is that it recommends stuff based on your previous viewing, so if you watch something that is bad it recommends more of the same .... Hey bots, would you like to watch some more ****?

Rogue Agent 7.5/10

I would recommend watching this without watching the trailer first or reading the synopsis which is how I watched it

Big Spoilers, Beware!
Spoiler:

I turned it on without looking at anything about it and when it started I thought it was going to an IRA/Spy movie so I was really surprised at the twist it took.

It was a pretty scary film when you really think about it knowing this is a true story, people like this guy are pure evil, it's so odd to think about it, his entire life is lying to people, he never even clocked off so never had a truthful, real relationship with anyone. Like other people are just play things for his amusement.

I was heartened that for once justice was served seeing he got a life sentence in the end but then of course it was overturned and he was released in 2009. Disgusting.

Jurassic World 3 - 2/10

Urgh it was just so bad.

Endless barely connected action scenes that don't drive tge plot, you may as well be staring at a blank screen.

Waaaaaay too long.

The new characters just suck, no-one's going to watch a movie centred on them! Make it about the main duo or original trio, not the new characters, who barely are characters.
