Cinema to be a thing of the past in the not too distant future.

Hope im wrong, but half the films released you can buy on PPV the same time they're in the Cinema. Also, it's not really a cheap family day out, people will start to wait for films to show on streaming services.

I actually hate going to the cinema, i love talking through films and googling the actors and plot etc
i got dragged to watch jurassic world a few weeks ago and needed a wee for like the entire 6 hour film but didn't want to do that awkward walk of shame down and up the steps

I've not been for years, i don't know anybody else who has either. Im sure custom from kids was a big bulk of their trade, if they can keep the kids interested maybe they have a future. But im certain, either way, it'll be very much downscaled.

The pandemic and shutting the cinemas has obviously damaged the business. Box-office numbers still well down on 2019.
Film studios aren't putting as many films into cinemas now, and the ones that do come to streaming earlier. I looked at the realise schedule recently and there is nothing major until the middle of October. |

Ironically the last film i watched at the Cinema was Terminator Salvation, which i enjoyed tremendously. Criminally underrated film.

I don't know why they don't do more offers there. I like Cineworld but I don't think I've ever had a ticket under a tenner even though I normally went on quiet weekday afternoons when there were only a couple of other people there. They had no beer at all the last time I went to one as well
Just checked Cineworld vs Vue for Monday afternoon as an example in the proper graveyard slot. £5.89 to watch a film at Vue, £9.99 at Cineworld |
