controversial maybe i know
but i thought this makes a interesting debate subject here now with the Russian invasion in Ukraine and Belarus's Lukashenko dictatorship - music artists of theirs no longer being able to participate at eurovision song contest (a music competition which had the ''no politics in eurovision'' motto for a long time but EBU have broken that rule) - russian and belarusian sportspeople getting banned from events in Wimbledon, Korea Open, Formula 1, banned by UEFA/FIFA now EBU are threatening to do the same to Azerbaijan, due to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict so my question, should music artists, sportspeople get punished for the actions of their country's governments? this whole wokeism, cancel culture thing goes way too far in my opinion (if this thread might end up getting locked by mods fair enough but i needed to get this out of me) |
