I highly doubt that people that love Beer are going "I want my alcoholic drink to have less alcohol in it" because it doesn't really make much sense.

What's probably happened is some silly group has probably complained about Beer not being healthy for people to drink (which tbf is true) and these Beer companies have capitulated to avoid negative press.

Where as I personally say let people make their own choices, if they make the wrong one it's on them, as after all they're a grown ass adult.

Yes but generally it's to make it more palatable to the soft young drinkers... not because it's cheaper to brew it weaker. Brewers tweak their recipes all the time. I did a brewery tour for part of a friend's stag night - it was boring as **** but very informative .

I'm sure it was still 5.2% the last time I drank it, which would have been about 2002 when I was 17 . I'm not a beer fan but one of our locals;

1) Let in anyone over about the age of 15 and

2) ALWAYS had Stella on offer. £1.90 a pint. Really unimaginable prices these days. Their most expensive pint was only about £2.60...

I understand they're lowering alcohol content to swerve another tax rise.
