I have seen and heard a few people saying they like Henry but wont be voting for him as he s a Tory which imo is a sweeping statement saying all Tories are bad people, they are not they just have different views on things. It shouldn't matter what his political persuasion is he is ,or seems to be a lovely caring person, imo its very unfair if Henry loses out because of that, after all we dont say Im not voting for ??? because they are Labour voters etc. Does it matter to people on here ?

He isn’t in the party. Voting anybody for their political leanings is ridiculously silly. |

Totally agree….sadly people can be very fickle. Henry has just been a sincere and decent housemate and he should be judged on that alone, not his political lean to. |

I like Henry but that's the one thing that lets him down for me. Fair enough, have your political beliefs but his ass kissing for Boris Johnson because he thinks he's "hilarious" or "brilliant" or whatever isn't a good look when he's a hugely privileged man born with a silver spoon who isn't the one who's going to be massively affected by Johnson's incompetence and terrible leadership.

The fact people make that an issue not to like him or vote him based on that says more about them.

Hands off my Brick!
|
I remember when you could have totally different political views and still be great friends/like a person/not let it affect how you treat them. I miss those days.

It’s almost as if people label people now straight away based on political views before getting to know somebody. It’s crazy people are willing to write off up to half of the population

Remembering Kerry
|
Well I'm solid Labour although I wish Starmer the leader was more.
I've liked Henry since the first few days. Wasn't sure I would, not because he is more a Tory. I've loads of Conservative friends . I wouldn't hold someone's politics against them in a TV show. That's ridiculous I like Henry because he's a good housemate and but for Jordan he would be the one I'd like to win. I'd battle likely with Henry bigtime re Boris Johnson, however afterwards would thoroughly enjoy socializing over a drink too. Kazanne and I have had battles re politics on here but there's mountains of other issues I agree with her on. Anyone not liking Henry just because he's a Tory is both ridiculous and incredibly childish. Pathetic in fact. |

Locke.

He makes it such a huge part of who he is and his own personality that it absolutely does come into effect when viewing him as a housemate

There's no problem getting along with people who aren't on your side of the political spectrum, but it becomes an issue when people admit that they predicate their political affinity on this cult-of-personality "Look at him, he's like your whacky mate on a night out really!" type stuff.
It's shitbrained, this kind of thinking. It cheapens the harm and damage done by government and Henry's had open conversation about it when confronted with some of that harm and damage. That makes it a part of his presentation and fair game for the vote. You could argue it's actually a deeply important reason why someone would choose not to vote for him. And I say that as someone who really likes the guy other than that. |
