I don’t know how far we’re going to get with this conversation considering the blatant transphobia that flutters not-so-very-subtly on this forum, but let’s try. Anyone and everyone is welcome to chip in but the question per-se is for women (and let’s park the annoyance at using ‘cis.’ as a descriptor right here; I’m not having that conversation). And the question is this: should trans.-women be allowed to use conventional women’s toilets? (Yes, we really are in the periodic text-boldening era. At least occasionally.)
Anyone who doesn’t have a vagina can go and sit down as far as the poll is concerned.

I won't vote on the poll as I'm not a woman.
But my feelings on it are that last year we had our highest ever recorded statistics on women being sexually assaulted, so imo if the Transwoman still has a penis, then it's taking an unnecessary risk is how I view it. Having said that though, I'm not a woman, so they should have their say on this topic more than myself.

The Problem is predators are taking advantage of this whole thing, but if you haven't even attempted to look like a woman & you still have male parts ,then you shouldn't be using women's bathrooms. There should be respect 2 ways.
But men are walking into women's spaces as bold as anything , they're not even attempting to look 'female'. In America it looks like both men & women are walking in each others lockerooms like it's the norm, a man was caught shaving in a women's space & a woman was caught filming men in a men's lockeroom. So it's all a joke & a big fat mess, privacy is important and nowadays it seems more & more people are overstepping boundaries and making women & children feel uncomfortable for the sake of it . I know this poll is mainly about public bathrooms, but I'm glad I don't use gyms anymore. Last edited by GoldHeart; 13-06-2024 at 10:54 AM. |

In 2024 men are still biologically physically stronger than women and more of a risk to women and children especially in places where they are more vulnerable like bathrooms and changing rooms where they might be in a state of undress. It's pretty relevant to the point Goldheart was making

It is given the latest available statistics ! Spoiler: The change in just 3 years SHOULD be negligible. Spoiler: The data showed few differences between the two nations with respect to sexual orientation. England and Wales had very similar proportions of people who identified as: So straight or heterosexual (89.4% of the population aged 16 years and above in both England and Wales) Then gay or lesbian (1.5% in both England and Wales) Leaving bisexual (1.3% in England, 1.2% in Wales) Plus any other sexual orientation (0.3% in both England and Wales) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro Last edited by Niamh.; 13-06-2024 at 04:23 PM. Many people won’t want to vote option-2 because it sounds harsh but that’s exactly how it is and the reasoning behind it.

You might get more people voting in your polls if you just had the answers as options and let people explain their own reasoning behind their answer. We do all have our own thoughts and minds.

is women and children not the norm. Or should everything be described in terms of exceptions?

You're welcome. It is absolutely 100% the case. though. Name one person on this forum who hasn't been given the opportunity to talk about trans people (or post LoTT tweets at least) in numerous other threads?

No, I don't need that extra concern. I'm not in the business of doling out medical exams for every person who enters the bathroom and interrogating them. Why put either person in that position? Should I try to "police" that space. We know what is realistic. So letting any person of the opposite sex into that space, we have to allow everyone. I wouldn't know the difference between who has transitioned and who hasn't anyway. It's an extreme expectation to put on the average person, imo.
Anyway, none of that has anything to do with going to the bathroom. I'm not going to the bathroom to "celebrate" my status as a woman. I just go to the bathroom to use the bathroom... I don't need to worry about whether or not someone is there for other reasons, whether that is a serious thing, to show off, or someone with severe NPD looking to make others uncomfortable and domineering. On a personal level, I have enough problems with medical just going to the bathroom period than to have to worry about that extra concern. It would probably mean I would use public bathrooms far less. And I can only imagine how a woman who has dealt with sexual assault in her past who is impacted medically (PFD, for example) might feel if they're struggling to do something routine in the presence of those extra variables. And it is different for biological women, because we don't have the physical capabilities of men so we definitely have to be more concerned when in secluded areas in public. It's just a fact of life. I appreciate transitioned people can use the bathroom for the same reasons as myself and for me it's not how they choose to identify that makes it an issue. It's more that those spaces are segregated biologically for a good reason. Last edited by Maru; 13-06-2024 at 07:24 PM. |

none can "transition" sex
that is the whole basis of this dangerous lie all people can do is pretend to (which in normal life is grand, knock yourself out) that does not help actual women and small girls in safe spaces.. |
