Default Cowell made final decision on Emily\'s future

Quote:
Simon Cowell made the final decision about Emily Nakanda's future on The X Factor, according to The Sun today.

The 15-year-old was forced to withdraw from the programme yesterday, after a "happy slapping" video showing her assaulting another girl was leaked to the press.

The newspaper claims that several members of the production team wanted Emily to stay on the show, but Cowell insisted that it would not be appropriate.

A source explained: "Cowell told the producers that, although she is only 15 and it's a sensitive subject, she can't remain on the show. She is giving out a bad message to other teenagers who watch and may look up to her."

I read that, it was the right one. What she did was out of order.

I find it funny how all the way through the show she was in tears, right up until the final twelve. Constantly seeming vunerable and upset, whilst playing on her "life threatening illness" story.

Then all of a sudden she started smiling in an arrogant manner, answering back to the judges and coming accross rather smug with herself when people critisised her.

Now we find out she performs happy slaps, she suddenly doesn't seem the sweet, innocent, crying wreck she once was =]

One of her sides she showed us was false, so she's fake in my opinion.

Although I haven't seen the happy slap incident, surely it can't have been that bad? Did she slap them herself in an extremely violent way or something? and then the person was really offended by it?

Then I might slightly understand why she was removed.

I saw the video and I didn't see any slapping, but she wa pulling the girls hair, and when asked to stop by the girl she didn't.

Retroman - your comment about her al answer judges back is ridiculous. If you look at the first live show she said "the judges are the experts, they know what they are talking about Im here to learn from them" and the last one Simon applauded her for saying what she did.

Here's something from the article I also found interesting:

It shocks me that anyone would want her to stay after that video! Surely they realise what a bad message it sends across about the show by keeping someone like that on it?

I haven't seen the video yet, and I'm not sure I want to. It will truly shatter and taint the image of the 15-year-old Emily I had. She always seemed extremely mature for her age, and genuinely nice at the same time to me. I'm also shocked that some members of the production team wanted her to stay - perhaps they didn't want to take too drastic steps?

But I think Simon made the right decision, no doubt. It's just a real shame for Sharon now, as she only has Alisha... who hasn't exactly been doing fantastically well.
