IT’S been an annual tradition for the past 43 years.
Turkey, Brussels sprouts, a minor family row and the Top Of The Pops Christmas Special. But now BBC Scrooges are axing the iconic show. A festive telly schedule without the Pops is like Christmas pud without brandy butter — bland and stodgy. BBC top brass pulled the plug on the weekly TOTP in July 2006. But the Christmas Day shows were continued so well-fed viewers could find out who had won the year’s biggest chart battle. Last year a sterling line-up including KAISER CHIEFS, GIRLS ALOUD, THE PROCLAIMERS and KATE NASH kept the flame alive. More here Not so sure about this decision ... |
