Knuckle

Its a documentary movie which has been filmed for the last 12 years and follows several irish traveller familys and the long running feuds which are settled and fueled by arranged bare knuckle fights between the familys often with huge amounts of cash at stake on the outcome.

Its violent and tragic how even blood relatives are seperated by defending the family name in feuds that started generations before these people were even born but somehow it has an element of being honourable.

Paddy Doherty makes a brief appearence as one of the referees who is there to oversee a fight.

Its a good insight into a slightly hidden side of irish travellers and how they settle their own disputes in house and between themselves.

I really enjoyed it and theres nothing too graphic about the fighting but a fair bit of blood it left me with a feeling that although the travellers let this cameraman and his crew inside the community and let him see just about everything they never actually gave the real reasons behind a lot of the disputes they kept that to themselves.

I would definitely recommend to anybody thats interested or curious its a good watch.

A little on the long, drawn out side. Good. I always love learning more about people. But lacked a lot. It was just 'and this and this and this'..... with rap music

6/10

World Trade Center. Unsurprisingly sad but with a happy ending. Not as good as United 93, it felt quite slow paced at times and the acting wasn't always very believable. I don't think I'd watch it again.

Saw that on the planner. Didn't watch. Not sure I agree with it. Trying to make a blockbuster film about it within months.

It gets a 8/10 from me

I thought Franco was great, much better than in Spiderman and 127 hours. Lithgow as his father was his usual brilliant self and Andy Serkis was amazing once again (although IMDB have neglected to even acknowledge him on the first page of actors once again). The failure for me was Brian Cox. He is way too big an actor to play his role in this film. Tom Felton should never have been in the film. The only reason he got the role is due to his Potter role IMO.

As for the story line itself. I thought it was a breath of fresh air on an old story. It has a credible base and moves on from there. The only time i found myself raising questions was towards the end when the apes gathered in the woods.

Where were they going to go from there?

I thought it was a great insight into the inner relationships of the gypsy community and their ways 8/10

It wasn't too bad at all IMO. I was expecting a pile of crap but it ended up having a decent mix of humor and peril to make it work. David Tennant was brilliant as always. Farrell was pretty good as well.

The Help 9.5/10

Once every so often you sit down to watch a movie expecting nothing. That movie then picks you up and slaps you right across the face with such force that you never forget it again. This is what The Help did to me.

I forgot about Serkis and Lithgow to be honest... I'm really struggling to remember Serkis now.

They had better be quick and build it out of branches. The police are only about a mile away and looking for them

Serkis is the unsung actor that everyone forgets He plays Caesar. He also played King Kong and Gollum.
